P. <br /> Board members were given a copy of the recent draft as prepared by <br /> Attorney Michael Gilman along with recommendations for changes as <br /> seen by Chairman Sullivan in a recent review of the draft , The <br /> Board approved the issuance of an article for speciatl town meeting <br /> in order that the update of the P . #P, be accepted , Caroline was <br /> asked to represent the Board at town meeting . <br /> Town Newspaper <br /> The- idea of a- town newspaper , as suggested by Dave at a previous <br /> meeting, was discussed further . This would help to improve commun- <br /> ications' amongst town employees . <br /> Carrie said that she thought it would be the responsibility of the <br /> executive secretary to put out public relations for communications <br /> as that office knows what is going on in every department . <br /> Dave- commented that he was thinking of a semi-offi-cial newsletter . <br /> Manny suggested naming it "The Town Employee ' s Publication " . <br /> Dave suggested that a memo be sent out to employees to see how they <br /> would feel about having a newsletter . <br /> Awards <br /> Dave suggested -implementing an award ' s program and recognizing out- <br /> standing <br /> ut- <br /> st~anding employees with 'the Personnel Board making nominations . <br /> Carrie said that criteria should be established and that it should be <br /> pend up for wide participation . Dave motioned that the possibility <br /> of doing this be Doled into . - All. were in agreement . <br /> Special Appointments <br /> Bob reviewed -his recommendations with the Board for special Appoint- <br /> ments <br /> ppoint-ments as follows : Harbor Master f Shellfish Warden and Herring Garden <br /> one person in charge in order that lines can be crossed with any problem <br /> with boating. Assistants of Harbor Master should be paid if assistants <br /> of shellfish warden are paid. Plumbing , Wiring and Gas Inspectors <br /> could b-e paid -on a percent basis . Civil... Defense should be kept separ- <br /> ate since grants can be obtained . <br /> Interviews of Call Firefighters <br /> The Personn'el Board , along with the assistance of Chief Hartin and <br /> Senior Firefighter Bill. Chase , interviewed three applicants for the <br /> position of call firefighter a8 follows : Gecrge Cole , Steven Lemieux <br /> and Daniel. Kelley. The Board was in agreement alone with the Chief <br /> that e-urge Cole and Daniel. 'Kelley would be qualified candidates . <br /> Mr . LemieuX was .not avall.abl.e to work except during the winter months . , <br /> Board Secretaries_ <br /> Candidates for the secretarial pool were brought to the attention o <br /> the Board -- Diana Lund , Nancy Gagncn and Carol Lopez . It was noted <br /> that Nancy Gagnon did not have a typing test with Board members comment- <br /> ing that procedure should be followed. <br />
