PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MEETING OF DECEMBER 13, 1985 <br /> 41 AHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present: Chairman <br /> Robert W. Sullivan, Caroline Gilligan, Manuel Glickman And C. Berg <br /> Lofchie. <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at p,m, for the purpose <br /> of reviewing the fringe benefits granted to employees under the <br /> Personnel Administration Plan, <br /> The Board reviewed recommendations from the study conducted by the <br /> I.M.A. as a result of their review of the fringe benefits currently <br /> granted to P.A. P. employees. They also reviewed recommendations for <br /> fringe benefits not currently granted by the town. <br /> The Board also reviewed the fringe benefits offered through the Union <br /> Contracts , They met briefly with Joe Murphy, at their request, to <br /> update them on any changes in the union contracts recently settled. <br /> The Board noted that there were no chances in the Police Contract as <br /> to fringe benefits. <br /> In the Clerical Contract, ars Educational Incentive Plan was added <br /> similar to what is offered in the Police Union Contract. <br /> .In. the DPW Contract and Clerical. Contract, bereavement leave was <br /> changed to four days off for immediate family - wife, husband, father, <br /> brother, sister, mother, child and two, days bereavement leave for <br /> brother-in-law, sister-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, and grand- <br /> paents. <br /> The fringe benefit review consisted of the following: <br /> Sick Leave <br /> Accrual - 15 days allowance - No change recommended <br /> Maximum Accumulation -- 120 days allowed - No change recommended. <br /> Buy-Bac} - None currently allowed under P. ,P. - No change recommended. <br /> ThO Board reviewed recommendations by the M.M.A. to start a monitoring <br /> program to assess sick leave usage and trends in town departments and <br /> employee groups. The Board agreed that a Monitoring Program should be <br /> implemented. <br /> Vacation Leave <br /> Accrual - No change in the current accrual. <br /> Carry over - The Board voted to allow a maximum carry over of 50° on <br /> vacation time earned to be carried over in a fi-scal year up to a <br /> maximum of tern days. Language to be worked out. <br /> Buy-Back - None allowed - No change recommended. <br /> Longevity <br /> The Board voted to increase the Longevity as follows : 5 yrs. , 15 -- <br /> lo yrs. , $225 -- 15 yrs. , $300 -- 20 yrs. , $375 -- 25 yrs. , $375 . This <br /> would bring longevity in lime with the Fire Union Contract, <br />
