Personnel Board Meeting <br /> Minutes of December 1 , 1985 Page <br /> Longevity, - cont, <br /> The Board voted to implement ent wording in the P.A.P. to allow credit for <br /> continuous part-tine service of an employee when computing longevity <br /> should the employee accept a full-time position with the town. For ex- <br /> ample, <br /> x-aample, an employee who worts for the town under the . .P. for 7 years <br /> on a 20 hour week basis and then becomes full-time , would get credit <br /> for � years of time when computing longevity. <br /> Personal Leave <br /> Two days allowed - No change recommended. <br /> Health Insurance <br /> To be checked on further with the Executive Secretary to see if differ- <br /> ent options have been researched and are being considered <br /> Life Insurance <br /> M.M.A. does not recommend a change at this time as -most employees are <br /> satisfied with the town' s current $5, 000 term life insurance policy. <br /> Maternity Leave <br /> No change. The Board reviewed suggestions of employees for consideration <br /> of paternity leave. Since the town has a leave )of absence policy for up <br /> to three months of leave , the Board chid not feel a paternity leave policy <br /> is necessary. <br /> Educational Assistance Polio <br /> The Board voted to recommend that the town' s educational assistance fund <br /> be increased to $6 , 000 , They agreed with the recommendations of the <br /> M.M.A. that employees should apply for use of the funds in advance of <br /> registering for a course and they should successfully pass the course <br /> before receiving reimbursement (as is current policy) . The Board agreed <br /> also to the recommendations of the M.M.A. that if funds were limited, <br /> preference should be given to those employees who have not received <br /> funds in the past. <br /> Miley e Reimbursement Policy <br /> The board reviewed the. current policy to reimburse employees . 21 per <br /> smile for use of a private automobile for town business. They agreed <br /> that this was sufficient except in cases where an-employee drives their <br /> vehicles on dirt roads; i .e. animal control officer, recreation director, <br /> assessor. They reviewed the recommendations of the -M.M.A. to con- <br /> tact the State commissioner of Banks to, obtain information about credit <br /> unions in the Mashpee area. The secretary was asked to check into it. <br />
