Personnel Board Minutes <br /> Meeting of November- 18, 1985 Page <br /> Chief Haman commented that the Chief can provide for a Chief- Fire officer to be i <br /> quarters for a major portion of the day. He said that if they achieve their objec- <br /> tives, he doesn't see where there would be a problem. <br /> Chairman Sullivan commented that flextime for just anybody does not work out the same. <br /> .Chief Hartin commented that Chapter 48, Section 42 allows Selectmen to fire for just <br /> cause. He said if someone could not manage an incident 'shame on nett; <br /> Chairman Sullivan asked if the Deputy would do supervision? Chief Har in replied that <br /> he would supervise lieutenants and f irefigh ers. <br /> With reference to the Deputy Fire Chief position, Chief Har in told the Board that he <br /> would prefer to fill the position internally through a promotional process. i <br /> The Deputy Job Description was reviewed for job summary and job duties. With reference <br /> o the pay range, Chief Har in referred to `_`ar-1 counter proposal of the Management <br /> Employees of the Town of Mas pee. He told the Board that the Management Employees <br /> net and that they feel it is necessary to address salary level on a specific basis. <br /> They established a phased in proposal to address concerns. 'He requested the Personnel <br /> Board to review the proposal and advise them of the Personnel Board's intention with <br /> regards to article 17 or further discussion. <br /> Chairman Sullivan replied that the Board would review the counter proposal and also re- <br /> quest theM.M.A. to review it. <br /> Interviews with Plumbing and Cas Inspector Applicants <br /> The Personnel Board, along with the assistance of the Building Inspector, interviewed <br /> the following can.dida es for the part-time position of Plumbing and Gas Inspector a <br /> a salary .cif 1 '000/annually: Leo Jolly, Joseph O'Malley, George Bla enak, andnDennis <br /> Gagne. Another applicant, George Robbins, Jr. , failed to keep his appointment. <br /> The Personnel. Board voted unanimously to recommend to the Building Inspector that Leo <br /> Jolly be given consideration for the position pending 'a pre-employment physical. <br /> Attendance -- T. doll <br /> Upon review of a memo from the Bd. of Selectmen. granting Tracie Moll a permanent status <br /> with the. town, the Personnel Board giesionned whether this employee's attendance was <br /> given consideration. The Board noted that Tracie had been out sick more than ten days <br /> during her probationary period, The Board requested that a memo be sent to the Select- <br /> men relative to their concerns that attendance of ars employee be given consideration <br /> when evaluating an employee's performance during the probationary period. <br /> Personnel Board Minutes - 10/28 <br /> Ben Lofehie moved - o accept the Personnel Board minutes with the deletion of the last <br /> lire in paragraph five on page 4 of. the October 28 minutes.
