Personnel Board Meeting <br /> Minutes October 21 , 1985 Page <br /> Massachusetts Municipal Association to meet with the Selectmen and tie' Personnel Board. on <br /> Monday, October 28 at 6-00 p.m. The Selectmen have invited department heads to be pres- <br /> ent. <br /> res-ent. <br /> Evaluation of Town Planner <br /> Upon review of the yearly evaluation of Torn Fudal a, Town Planner, the Board approved a <br /> step increase from $498.70. Grade 27, Step 1 to $518.18 (Grade 27, Step 2) . The Board <br /> also voted to make an adjus.tment on the proposed salary schedule submitted by the .M.A. <br /> placing r. 'Fudala at, $ 1 :1 . Mr. Fudala wil.,l. be placed at Grade 22, Step ($537.58) . <br /> - 4 <br /> All in-favor. <br /> Request to Meet Bard from Firs Chief <br /> Chief Uartin requested to meet with the Board t6 discuss. .�ddt!ng- his job description <br /> and to discus's a job description of a Deputy Fire Chief. The Board asked that the <br /> Chief be scheduled for November 18 and that drafted job descriptions be sere to them <br /> in the meantime. <br /> Request for Course Approval <br /> The Board reviewed a request for a course. in -Computer Usage for Hone- & Busin ss to be <br /> held at the Mashpee Middle School in January at a cost of $15. The request cane from <br /> Fancy -eats. of the Highway Department. The Board voted to approve prior approval. <br /> Application for Employment <br /> The Board reviewed a revised application for employment as suggested from Holtz <br /> Gilman's office per a request from this Board. The revised application was approved <br /> as submitted. <br /> Board Secretary - M. McLaughlin <br /> Martha -McLaughlin submitted a time sheet for hours worked consisting of 30 hours for <br /> typing of the Planning Board minutes. Due to the fact that Mrs. McLaughlin was trans- <br /> cribing <br /> rans-cribing from a taped meeting, the Board felt that approval of time spent in typing the <br /> minutes should be granted. The voucher will be submitted to the Chaitman of the Plan- <br /> ning Board for signature granting approval.. <br /> Longevity <br /> A memo dated September 2 -from the Executive Secretary regarding longevity was passed <br /> out for the Board's review and consideration in their update of the P.A.P. <br /> Letter from Dr. Hamre <br /> The Board reviewed a letter from Dr. Hamre of Falmouth, who offers his services to <br /> the Police Department in the way of annual physicals. The secretary was asked to ad- <br /> vise Dr. Hamre that the town currently -has a physician who does all -town employee <br /> physicals and that the .costs for such physicals are reviewed in January during budget <br /> preparation. The 'Board also requested to have Dr. Hamre writo back with a list of <br /> his fees. <br /> Municipal Building Committee <br /> The.Board reviewed a memo. dated October 3 from the Executive Secretary advising them <br /> that the newly formed Municipal Building Deeds Committee will be in need of a secretary. <br /> Shellfish Constable <br /> In f o 1 l ow-up' to the Personnel Board's memo dated September 25 to the Shellfish Commission <br /> requesting an outline -and responsibilities of the Shellfish Constable, the Board received <br /> a memo from the -Executive Secretary dated. September 30. He advises the Personnel Board <br /> that the Shellfish Commission submitted an article for a full-time shellfish constable <br /> at a salary of approximately $20,000 annually.and that- the Selectmen have asked the <br /> Shellfish Commission to discuss the job description and compensation with the Personnel <br /> Board. <br />
