PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> t <br /> MA NPEE TOWN HALL <br /> MEETING OF JUNE 17, 1985 • <br /> � I <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight's meeting <br /> Caroline Gilligan, Manuel Glickmah and Ben- Lofchie. <br /> i <br /> Acting Chairman Gilligan convened the meeting at 6:00 P.M. <br /> Acceptance of Personnel Minutes <br /> Ben Lofchie moved to accept the Personnel Beard Minutes of May 17. Manuel Glickman seconded* <br /> All present voted in favor. <br /> Step Increases <br /> The Board voted unanimously to approve step increases for three Board Secretaries, Martha <br /> McLaughlin, Patricia White and Judith Walsh to be effective on their anniversary dates. <br /> Review of Annual Evaluations <br /> The Board made a review of the annual evaluations of department heads and other employees <br /> who fall under- the Personnel Administration Plan. as follows: L. Anderson, L. Frazier, <br /> J. Murphy, M. Farren, M. Howard, G. Sano, V. Polka, W. Rubin, E. Virgilio, E. Martin, <br /> G. Erdman, J. Howell, A. McGee, D. Studley and A. Mosl y. Manuel Glickman-moved to approve <br /> annual step increases for all employees listed above to. be effective 7/1/85 Frith the excep- <br /> tion of L. Anderson. Ben Lofchie seconded. All in favor. The Board did not grant 'the step <br /> increase to Mrs. Anderson as her position was recently upgraded at February Town..Meeting and <br /> all were in agreement that this upgrade changed the anniversary date for step increase pur-. <br /> poses. <br /> Administrative Secretary Interviews <br /> The Board interviewed two candidates for the position of Administrative Secretary to the <br /> Board of Selectmen: Sandra. Peters and Judith Walsh. Both` candidates currently work for <br /> the tarn as Board Secretaries. The hourly rate of $6.76 per hour was outlined for each <br /> candidate and both were presented with a copy of the job description. Backgrounds of both <br /> candidates were reviewed for experience and education. The Board voted unanimously t <br /> recommend to the Board of Selectmen that Sandra Peters be given first consideration for <br /> the position as they Felt she would be more stable as a town employee on a full-time basis. <br /> Educational Reimbursement tent - D. Flynn <br /> The Board reviewed a request from Doug Flynn to be reimbursed for courses' taken during the <br /> spring semester at Capri Cod 'Community College in the amount of $556. Upon review of the <br /> monies left in the Education Account, the Board discoveredi.t4at$214.69 remained. The Board <br /> also reviewed the fact that the employee had not submitted a request for prior approval. . <br /> of these courses. The. secretary was asked to obtaina ruling from counsel. The Board re- <br /> quested that a memo be sent to all departments notifying employees that they must apply <br /> for prior approval if planning to tale courses pertaining to their job. <br /> Forza for Interview of Police anda.date <br /> The Board reviewed a draft of a form prepared with the assistance of the Deputy Police Chief <br /> and the secretary to be used during- the ibterview process of police candidates. Board rnem.- <br /> bers adopted the .use of another form using the same- criteria as in the draft along with <br /> points for each category. (See copy attached) . <br /> t <br /> r <br />
