Personnel Board Minutes <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Meeting of May 17, 1985 Page <br /> volunteer Needed for Personnel Committee <br /> A letter from John Doane and Nathan Ellis of the Commonwealth of Ma. Barnstable <br /> County -Commissioners dated May 8 seeking volunteers for a Personnel Committee was <br /> reviewed by the Board. The Gounty Commissioners and Financial Advisory Board are <br /> concerned about the problems- being encountered in the county regarding salary <br /> classification plans, evaluations and comparisons of comparable positions and com- <br /> parisons of salaries with those in other public and/or private sectors. <br /> Cablevision Advisory Committee <br /> The Board reviewed a memo dated May 6 -from. the Executive Secretary advising then that <br /> a Cablevision Advisory Committee has been established and assistance is needed in ar- <br /> ranging for a Board Secretary for their committee meetings. The secretary advised the <br /> Board that she has started the advertising process. <br /> Notice of Suspension <br /> .Correspondence regarding the suspension of Patrolman Edward. Slevin for one day without <br /> pay was reviewed by the Board. <br /> Probationary Period Extension Request <br /> Chief Frye has requested the Board of Selectmen in a letter dated May 10 to extend the <br /> probationary period of Dispatcher Gail McDonald until September 10 allowing the employee <br /> to experience the work load that occurs during the summer~ months at the Police Department <br /> and to be able to handle the Leaps Machines and other matters without assistance.' <br /> Job Description - Health Inspector <br /> The Board reviewed a copy of a job description prepared by the Board of Health for the <br /> position of Health Inspector. the job description was not dated, the Board asked <br /> the secretary to follow up on this matter. <br /> Education Committee <br /> Carrie Saunders discussed with the Board the results of the meeting held with the Execu- <br /> tive Secretary a few weeks ago relative to establishing an education committee to study <br /> the educational needs of employees. All Personnel Board members present wer'e in support <br /> of such a committee being foamed. <br /> New.flown Application <br /> Carrie Saunders also told the Board that as a result of the Affirmative Action Report <br /> needed to be filled out, it was necessary for the town to look into a new application <br /> fo.rm which would allow affirmative action information to be obtained. The secretary <br /> will follow up on sending a sample of an application to counsel to get his - input on -the <br /> questions on the form in regarding to criminal record, disability and foreign language. <br /> Meeting adjourned at 5 :10 p. . <br /> Respectfully submitted, <br /> Darilyn arren, secretary <br /> Personnel Board <br />
