,2 <br /> Personnel Board Minutes <br /> Meeting of April 2 , 1985 Page 2 <br /> The Personnel Board asked, the secretary to advertise the position in the Boston <br /> Globe and the Cape Cod Tines stipulating that police officer candidates must be <br /> able to pass the police academy entry requirements. The Board asked the secre- <br /> tary to check with the Executive Secretary requesting that he contact Mr. Liberty <br /> for use of .the school -for testing purposes. A passing grade of 70% was established <br /> by the Board. <br /> Carrie Saunders commented that she felt it was a good meeting with Chief Frye and <br /> that more department heads should feel free to meet with the Personnel Burd as <br /> they are welcome. <br /> Review of Speech of Personnel Board Annual Town Meeting <br /> The Board reviewed Manny Glickman' s draft of a speech prepared for the annual town <br /> meeting with regard to articles requesting salary ,upgrades. They also, reviewed <br /> revisions of Bob Sullivan and Carrie Saunders. Revisions were accepted by the Board. <br /> Ben Lofhie requested that Manny Glickman or Carrie Saunders read the speech at the <br /> town meeting. Manny Glickman said that he would be glad to mead it and Carrie <br /> Saunders said that she would be the back-up person. <br /> Ar i c l c for Special ' own Meeting <br /> With reference to Article #7 on the warrant for Special. Town -Meeting for May 6, Ben <br /> Lof hie indicated that he would move the article requesting 'the transfer of $900 to <br /> the Personnel Board expense account to cover psychological epnses which incurred <br /> with the hiring and promotion of police officers. <br /> Mashpee Taxpayers Meeting <br /> Board members were apprised of a meeting scheduled for April. 30 at 7 :00 p.m. at Town <br /> Hall by the Mashpee Taxpayers Association to- help voters understand Questions 1 & 2 <br /> on. the Ballot as well as the articles on the annual town meeting warrant. <br /> Request for Monies for Temporary Help x <br /> The Personnel Board reviewed a copy of a leeter. from the Board of Health to the Board <br /> of Selectmen dated April 22 requesting to use a portion of appropriated monies for <br /> temporary help to cover the office while the Board of Health Agent and the Clerk are <br /> on vacation at the end of the month. No action reed be taken until monies are approved. <br /> Sick Leave - Cheryl Hawv r <br /> The Board reviewed a copy of a letter to the Building Inspector from the Executive <br /> Secretary dated -April' 26 relative to the sick leave of Cheryl Hawver, secretary to <br /> Building Inspector.- - A' request for a doctor's certificate is being made to corer the <br /> period of time while Ms. Hawver was out of the office due to her excessive sick leave. <br /> T <br />
