Personnel Board Minute's of December 2 ,. 1986 Page Meeting With Wendy Rubin , cont Leo Turo�asked if the D . P .W . could transfer equipment to the recreation Department .. Wendy replied that they had .rakes , gloves , shovels , etc . which they turned over to the D w P : . a'nd that would not be problem Chairman Sullivan commented that lifeguards are supposed to take care of the beach . He said that- all the swimming markers and buoys are still out in John ' s Pond . Wendy said that" it is not -a responsibility of the life- guards . It was handled by D . P .W . and then it was not . She said she con- tacted Chet Koblinsky and he advised her to contact the Asst . Harbormaster . Wendy arbormaste - endy stated that she could not get in touch with Bob .- She said that she had the Asst . Harbormaster , Andy Gotleib , take in the markers from Attaquin axed. that she had to pay 'to have South Cape Beach done . Bob commented that she stated she would have the monitors picking up trash . He asked why the lifeguards are not doing it Deferring back to the, marl er.s , Wender commented that if she haat a boat there would be no problem . Bob said that when she is talking monitors , she is confusing what a lif'e- gard should be doing --- as. far as beach preparation - Wendy reparation -Wendy commented that lifeguards should spend their time training and excer-- cising for rescues - She said that the bottom lane i that . she - refuses to have the lifeguards pi.cl ' up trash,..,and that there are a variety of other things that a. beach monitor could be doing .- With reference to a Beach Attendant position , Chairman Sul.li an said that he suggests hiring another Beach Attendant that -would be doing non-lifeguard. things . He said that he Felt there -was no need for a monitor or preparation of beach . } Wendy said that she agreed to his - sugget • n "arid that. "the Board look at the salary of Beach Attendants . After reviewing the ho-urly rate of Beach Attendants , Ben Lofchie moved to adjust the Beach Attendant rate to an hour . Manny Glickman seconded . All in favor , Ben Lofchie mored to hire beach attendants between ' the ages of 16 and 1 }rears old . Manny Glickman seconded .- All in favor . - Program avor . -Program Director Wendy Rubin told the Board that the new Program ]director , Wendy Boothman , is the best thinig that happened to the town and that things have beenwork- ing out great .
