i <br /> I <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MEETING OF NOVEMBER 17 , 1986 <br /> IAHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight ' s <br /> meeting : Chairman Robert Sullivan , Caroline M . Gilligan , Manuel- Glickman , <br /> C . Berg Lofcie and Leo Turn _ <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting promptly at 6 : 00 p .m . <br /> " r <br /> Acceptan e of Minutes <br /> Manuel Glickman moved to accept the Personnel Board minutes ofOctober 27 <br /> and November 3 with a correction of the word "change ". to "changing " on page <br /> of the November 3 minutes : Ben Lofchio seconded . All present were in <br /> favor . <br /> Administrative Secretary Appointment - B W.o : . <br /> The Board reviewed the memo from the E cutive Secretary stating that Deborah <br /> Costa was appointed by the Board of Selectmen as their Administrative Secretary . <br /> Ben Lofchie pointed out the the Executive Secretary made his recommendations to <br /> the Selectmen -prior to their- review of the Personnel Board ' s recommendations ,as <br /> it was not put on their agenda . After some discussion on the subject , it was <br /> requested by the Board to send a letter to the •Board • of Selectmen advising them <br /> that the Personnel Board interviewed the candidates and their recommendations <br /> were not considered . Chairman Sul l iv-an asked that a list of the chronological <br /> eventsobe included in the letter . <br /> enior Citizen Center <br /> Chairman 'Sullivan advised the Board that he had vis-ited the Senior Citizen <br /> Center and talked with the new Director , the out-Reach Coordinator and the <br /> volunteer . The oust-Reach Coordinator and 'the volunteer indicated that they <br /> had a list ,of charges that were tied ±htb the job description . He advised <br /> thea to document the information and take it before the Council on Aging . <br /> In talking with the Director , Chairman Sullivan said that she does not like <br /> the pay , does not like working over there and does not like typing the news- <br /> letter . Also , she does not like being talked down to . <br /> L <br /> .w T <br /> Chairman Sullivan indicated that he also discussed the situation about the <br /> meetings the Director was not allowed to attend . <br /> Caroline Gilligan asked if the Chairman felt it was a power struggle . Chair- <br /> man Sullivan indicated that Priscilla Ham had called him and ._,asked if she <br /> r <br /> should resign . He commented that he ..thinks it i f a "no-win" situationO and <br /> that the rumors do not prove out . F <br /> Interviews for Adm . Secretary - Town Planner <br /> The. Personnel. Board , along with the assistance of Tom Fudala , the Town Planner , <br /> interviewed the following candidates for the full-time position of Administra- <br /> tiveSecretary-: Lorraine Drowne , Mary Clancy , Cornelia Nickerson , Victoria <br /> Authier ,, Sharon Eddy , Carol Tyndale and Pamela 'Thorsell : Marilyn - Desrosiers , <br /> ho was previously interviewed by the Burd and by the, Town Planner , was also <br /> candidate for the position-. <br /> r <br />
