PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MINUTES of AUGUT 1 , 1986 <br /> MAHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present for tonight ' s <br /> meeting : Chairman Robert W. Sullivan , Caroline M. Gilligan , Manuel <br /> Glickman and C '. Ben Lofchie <br /> hairman Sullivan convened the meeting promptly at : 00 p .m. <br /> y <br /> Acceptance of Minutes of 7/28 and 7/21 <br /> Manuel Glickman moved to accept the Personnel Board minutes of July 2 <br /> and July 21 . Ben Lofchie seconded . Unanimous . <br /> P _A.P . Vacation Policy Review <br /> Upon recelpt -of�a letter from the Town Accountant stating that she had <br /> received a grievance from the Assistant Town Accountant , Diane Romelmeyer , <br /> relative to the amount of vacation time she was entitled to , the Personnel <br /> Board reviewed the wording under the updated P .A . P . <br /> After lengthy discussion , the Board asked that a letter be. sent to all <br /> employees stating that the Board will go back and grant vacation days <br /> based upon the current status of the employee ' s length of service . Chair- <br /> man Sullivan said that even though this was not. the intent of the Board , <br /> we should do so in good faith until the language can be reworded correctly . <br /> The Board also noted that there was no language to address what an employee <br /> would earn for vacation time between the six month and twelve month status . <br /> Update of Job Descriptions <br /> Caroline�Gilligan ,`who attended t`he Board of selectmen ' s meeting of /1 , <br /> advised the Board that all departments were asked to withdraw their money <br /> articles for the September Special Town Meeting as, the town has an indebt- <br /> edness of approximately $800 ,000 . This effects the Board ' s request for a <br /> consultant to be hired to do an update of management job descriptions and <br /> salary comparison review . The board asked that Anita Tekle , the consultant <br /> be contacted and advised of the situation . <br /> Position Questionnaire <br /> The Board members were given samples of position questionnaire forms to be <br /> reviewed once,. a questionnaire form is adopted by the Board , they were in <br /> agreement to sena the questionnaire to w all employees stating that the <br /> money article was not accepted and the Board now intends to do their own <br /> update of job descriptions . <br /> Council on Aging_ >r~e tor--Pobiti.on. <br /> TheBoardreviewed a letter dated�August 18 from Torn Council relative to <br /> the Council on Aging Director� position . He ruled that the Town has the <br /> power to modify the position from a full-time position to a part--time <br /> position during the period of time that a needs assessment is being done . <br /> The Board was advised that job application's were available for review - <br /> Chairman <br /> evie _Chairman Sullivan indicated that he would be in _during the week to review <br /> them - Council on Aging members will' be contacted and asked to review the <br /> applications as well ; <br />
