Ben Lof hi . <br /> Acting chairman Gilligan convened the -meeting at .6:00 p.m. <br /> Acceptance of Personnel Minutes <br /> Manuel Glickman moved to accep' t' t-he Personnel Board minutes of March 1.7, 4 and 31. <br /> Ben Lof hi seconded. All pres.entwere in. agreement.. <br /> Update of Job Descriptions <br /> The Personnel. Board reviewed a letter dated April 3 from .the Ex cu ive secretary ad- <br /> vising thea thattit is too .ate., o include an r icl+ on the- annual town meeting <br /> warrant to raise and appropriate $4,200 to -retain service of a consuftant for the pur- <br /> pose of updating job descriptions. The Selectmen would like to discus's the issue -more <br /> fully with the Personnel. Board a town meeting might be- scheduled in the Fall. <br /> Manuel Glickman moved to have a jolne meeting set. up as soon as possible within the <br /> next five weeks. Ben Lofchie seconded. All in favor. . <br /> - <br /> Procedure for' Establishing Seniority of Police Officer <br /> The Personnel Board adopted a procedure for determining seniority fa Mashpee Police <br /> Officer when more than one individual is hired at the same time as- follows: written <br /> exam score, academy score -and considera i n of oral interview. The Board felt that <br /> some consideration should be given. o the oral interviews in the case of a tie. They <br /> felt that it is a fair and suitable method and reviewed the fact thatAt .was one that <br /> was used in the past. <br /> Step Increase-- Sandy Peters <br /> Upon review of a favorable annual performance evaluation of sandy Peters as 'Beard Secretary <br /> ito the Historical Commission, Manuel. Ail 'in favor, <br /> Employee Assistance Program <br /> The Board reviewed a memo dated April 3 from the Executive Secretary relative o' �-�mee ing <br /> being held on. April 22 a 9:00 a.m. o al-ki_with department heads and union representatives <br /> about an Employee Ass]"-stance Program, A representative f the -program, Ellen Harmansk r, <br /> will be attending,, As the Per on es Board #,.pis supportive of such a program, Ben Lofchie <br /> will follow up by attending the meeting. <br /> Open Forum <br /> i <br /> The Board reviewed a mems dated April 2 from the Tbwn clerk advising all departments that <br /> George Benway will hold an open forum on Town Meeting procedures on April 15 a 7:00 p.m. <br /> in the Town Hall. Cafeteria. <br /> hel.l.fi h Position <br /> Board members were updated that Robert Maxim dropped out of the running for the Shellfish <br /> position. They were advised that, the shellfish commission made their own recommendations <br /> o the Board of selectmen for the position. The Shellfish Commission dict not recommefid <br /> the Personnel Board's number 2 candidate. Board members were concerned over the fact that <br /> Selectmen request opinions from department heads or Boards after the Personnel. Board has <br /> conducted interviews, They discussed the fact that they have been delegated to interview <br /> ' 4 <br />
