All were <br /> in favor . <br /> Council on Aging - Letter from Director <br /> The Board reviewed a letter dated September 30 from Robert Connell , <br /> Administrator of the Council on Aging Dept . MrConnell.is requesting <br /> a member of the Personnel Board to attend the Council on Aging ' s meeting <br /> of October 7 in order to reaffirm the validity of all requirements of the <br /> Administrator of the Council ' on Aging job description . <br /> The Board delegated Ben Lofehie and the secretary to attend the meet-ing <br /> and to present . a memo from the Personnel Board outlining the history on <br /> the preparation of the current job description wh-ich was updated by the <br /> Council on Aging and approved -by the Board of Selectmen . The Board re- <br /> viewed the duties and responsibilities of the Administrator and felt that <br /> they are spelled out clearly in the job description . ' kith F"F"gard to the <br /> question on who the Senior 'Aide reports to -, it is the interpretation of <br /> the Board that tie Senior~ Aisle reports directly to the Administrator as <br /> outlin-ed in Item 46 under Duties and Responsibilities . <br /> Use of Town Hall F'loate'r <br /> The secretary advised the Board that the - Executive Secretary was inquiring <br /> into whether the Personinel Board would have any ob)ection. to the Town. Hall <br /> floater working in the -Personnel. Dept . Th+e Board members had no objections <br /> to this as long as things were kept confidential . <br /> Request to Advertise -, Recreation Dept . <br /> The Board reviewed a request from Wendy Rubin , Recreation reation Director , to ad- <br /> vertise for a part-time perso.n to supervise cored vc lle ball dames on <br /> Friday evenings alternating evenings with the l e reat.ion Director to carry <br /> the program through the winter . The Beard approved in-house advertising <br /> providing she had the money in her budget for this expense . <br /> Publicity <br /> Manny Glickman told the Board. that he felt that some of the publicity in the <br /> newspapers dives a negative appeal to the Personnel Board . He asked the <br /> Board members if they would vote to make it a routine procedure to contact <br /> the newspapers with a }gess release coming directly from the Board after <br /> each meeting . Ben suggested that they do it only when needed .
