5 <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> MEETING of FEBRUARY , 1987 <br /> MAHPEB TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were- present for tonight ' s <br /> meeting : Chairman Robert W . ullivan , . c . Ben Lof chie and Loo Turo <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 : 00 p -,m. <br /> Articles for Annual Town Meeting <br /> The Personnel Board reviewed a merino from the Executive Secretary dated <br /> January 13 relative to personnel upgradings which was in follow-up to a <br /> request made by the Chairman of the Personnel Board during the January 1 <br /> personnel meeting . Attached is a copy of the memo ).. <br /> Th-e Board also reviewed . a Letter from the Board of Assessors dated Jan . 31 <br /> recommending that the Director of Assessing be upgraded- from Grade 14 to <br /> Grade 1 6 (copy of letter also attached') . Discussions during previous <br /> meetings of No.vember 3 and November 24 were recapped upon' by the Board re <br /> other changes in Assessing Department . <br /> After discussing all recommendations and previous, discussions , the Board <br /> unanimously voted to. submit aof anti le for Annual Town Meeting to upgrade <br /> the following positions : �Administrative Secretary to Board of Selectmen and <br /> Secretary to Personnel Board and Senior Citizen Director t6 Grade ; Admin- <br /> istrative Assistant ;� A sist!ant' Town Accountant aria Animal Control. officer <br /> I <br /> to Grade 1 - Assistant .Building Tnspector , Conservation officer , Shellfish <br /> Constable to Grace 11 ; Assistant Assessor/Data collector- to Grade 1 ; <br /> 1� <br /> Recreation Director to -Grade 1,3 ; Town Accountant , B.uilding Inspector , Asst . <br /> Assessor to rade #1 epu�t Fire chief , Town Planner to- Grade 1 7 ; Director <br /> of Public works fto Grade 18 . The -Board voted note to rnclixde the Board of <br /> Health positions in the upgrade of Appendix A positions . Chairman Sullivan <br /> asked that a letter of explanation of the upgrades be sent to the Board of <br /> Selectmen . The Board discussed the fact that all decisions are subject to <br /> town meeting approval - and are to be effective for F ' s . <br /> The Executive Secretary ' s recommendations of not to change the current step <br /> increase dates for the Secretary to the Board of Selectmen , the Secretary to <br /> the Personnel Board and the Administrative Assistant were accepted and voted <br /> upon in f avor by the Board <br /> The Personnel Board voted unanimously to increase the hours of the. Personnel <br /> secretary from 30 hrs . to 35 h,rs _ The Board agreed .that four hours for a <br /> Board meeting would be included in the 35 hrs . The Board also voted to <br /> change the title of the position to Personnel Assistant pending vote of town <br /> meeting . <br /> The Board accepted the recommendation of the Executive Secretary to change <br /> the hours of the Adm-inistrative Assistant from 35 -hrs . to 40 h.r's .' <br /> Recommendations for Public Safety Dispatcher <br /> The Board reviewed a- memo from hi'e,f Frye dated January 29 recommending that <br /> Jill wrag'g be considered for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher . The <br /> background . inve tigat-ion has been completed and is satisfactory . <br /> The Board voted unanimously to concur with the Chief ' s recommendations - and <br /> W.L11 follow-up with a memo to the Board of Selectmen . <br />
