PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES MEETING OF JANUARY 13, 1992 MASHPEE TOWN MALL The following members of the Mashpee Personnel Board were present Chairman Robert W . Sullivan, Jane Stockbridge, Rita Sousa and Leo Turo ( arriving at 7 : 00 p.m . ) Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 6 : 15 p . m . Personnel Minutes Fane Stockbridge moved to accept the Personnel Board Minutes of November 9 as written. Rita Sousa seconded . All in favor . Fane Stockbridge roved that the Personnel Board Minutes of November 25 be accepted as submitted , Rita Sousa seconded . All in favor . i Fane Stockbridge mored to accept the Personnel Board Minutes of December 9 as written. Rita Sousa seconded . All in favor, Rita Sousa moved to accept the Personnel Board minutes of December to as written, Bob Sullivan seconded . All in favor. Discussion_ of _ Town Engineer. In follow-up to a memo dated December 27 from Kevin Harrington, Executive Secretary, requesting the Personnel Board to see if there exists methods of allowing Greg Taylor, D. P.W. Director to serge as Town Engineer while performing his duties as D. P.W. Director, the Board met with Mr. Taylor for this purpose . In his memo, the Executive Secretary suggested a review of relevant job descriptions to examine possibilities of merging position descriptions . - The Board also received a copy of a memo dated December 26 from the Executive Secretary stating that the Board of Selectmen unanimously voted to have Mr. Taylor assist the Building Inspector in an engineering capacity in a review of the Kri ansky and Duffy projects . Also presented to the Doard was a memo from Mr. Taylor dated ,fan. 1 relative to the Town Engineer job description and the scope of work . Jane Stockbridge asked if it was possible that the D. P. W. Director ' s salary would corer part of the extra compensation for the engineering work's She commented that a ray to look at it might be that the D. P.W. position be under Town Engineer , Greg Taylor said that the D. P.W . cope is much broader and more intense . He said that he felt the town needed an engineer and that he sato this as an opportunity to get town engineering started, but does not see it as secondary . He commented that the 'Town Engineer position is classified two steps higher than the Director of Public Works . Jane Stockbridge commented "education wise" .
