I <br /> i <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD MEETING <br /> MINUTES OF MAY 20, 1992 <br /> MASHPEE TOWN HALL <br /> The following members of the Mashpee Personnel Board were present : <br /> Chairman F obert Sullivan, C. Ben Lo chie, Leo Turo, Jane <br /> Stockbridge, and Rita Sousa, Selectwoman Judy Mills was also <br /> present , <br /> Chairman Sullivan convened the meeting at 10 : 05 a.m. <br /> Chief r e - re : Overtime Time <br /> The Board asked Chief Frye to meet with them with regard to the <br /> overtime of his Administrative Assistant, Barbara Morton . Chief <br /> Frye told the Board that most of Barbara' s overtime work is <br /> completed at home , Selectwoman Mills asked if the time was logged <br /> in and logged out's Chief Frye explained that the detail schedules <br /> are gone at have . Rita Sousa asked why the work is being dune at <br /> home? The Chief explained that Barbara does not have the time to d <br /> it under normal hours of work. It is not part of her job, and that <br /> it is separate and beyond her duties . The law says you can charge <br /> the contractors between one and ten percent of what the officer <br /> makes depending on how much time the Clerk puts in. If she was <br /> doing the detail schedule during her regular hours, you cannot <br /> charge ten percent . <br /> Ben Lofchie asked if the money from the details goes into thegen- <br /> eral fund? Chief Frye replied "yes" . lien asked if Barbara came <br /> back to the Police Station to do this work, could it be done? The <br /> Chief told the Board that it could be done . However, she is cur- <br /> rently contacted at home . Under the Union Contract, it has to be <br /> done a certain way. A schedule has to be posted and it has to be <br /> updated . Rita Sousa asked why she couldn' t do it at the Police <br /> Station's The Chief explained that over the weekend they ( the <br /> officers ) call Barbara. They need to contact her if they cannot <br /> make the detail . <br /> Ben Lofchie explained that people are upset when they look at <br /> figures close to $ 10, 000 overtime . He went on to say that i <br /> Barbara legged in and out, the Chief could answer fdvorably plus he <br /> could state that she receives ells over the weekends . it makes her <br /> accountable . <br /> Judy Mills commented that the water District gives three days notice <br /> for details . <br /> hief Frye commented that It has to be done properly or they could <br /> get a grievance from the Union. Barbara has to take the schedule <br /> down to work on it . <br /> Rita Sousa suggested making a copy of it while revising it and then <br /> replacing the old schedule with the new schedule .
