M E M O R A N D U M <br /> TO: BOARD OF SELECTMENDATE: OCTOBER 19, 1992 <br /> FROM: RITA E. SOUSA, CHAIRMAN CC: ROBERT WHRITENOUR <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD <br /> RE: CANDIDATES FOR PART-TIME <br /> FLOATING CLERK <br /> The Personnel Board interviewed four candidates for the position of <br /> Floating Clerk. The candidates are listed in the order of the <br /> Board ' s recommendations for the position: 1 . Jean Baggs, 2 . Jean <br /> Young 3 . April Johnson/Kathleen Pond . What follows is a brief <br /> synopsis of education and experience : <br /> 1 . Jean Baggs of Forestdale is a known entity in Mashpee Town Hall . <br /> She has developed an excellent work reputation as testified to <br /> by departments where she has worked as both a volunteer and a <br /> paid Floating Clerk ( see attached resume ) . Jean is familiar <br /> with Mashpee ' s data entry system and general knowledge of <br /> Mashpee office procedures . She is currently working as a <br /> Temporary Clerk in the Treasurer ' s office . Jean ' s education <br /> includes 1 1/2 years at Bentley College of Accounting and <br /> courses at Cape Cod Community College in Word Processing and <br /> .. . Introduction to Computer Programs . <br /> 2 . Jean Young of Mashpee has nine years secretarial experience with <br /> varied responsibilities to include legal secretary, realty <br /> secretary, etc . She has experience in data entry and word <br /> processing . Jean holds a secretarial certificate from Katharine <br /> Gibbs School and has taken various courses towards an Associate <br /> Degree at Massasoit Community College including a course in Word <br /> Processing. <br /> 3 . April Johnson of Mashpee has approximately three and a half <br /> years of secretarial experience which includes working for <br /> Mashpee ' s Town Clerk on a temporary basis doing data input on <br /> the town ' s computer system. April also worked as a claims <br /> reviewer for the Disability. Determination Services through the <br /> Commonwealth of Massachusetts . April ' s educational background <br /> includes taking business courses at Newbury Junior College . <br /> 4 . Kathleen Pond of Sandwich has worked as a municipal board secre- <br /> tary for three years with the Town of Sandwich, and has held <br /> other part-time secretarial positions working for a real estate <br /> company and, most currently, is working as a receptionist . <br /> Kathleen graduated with a Business Certificate from Fisher <br /> College . <br /> While the board feels that any of the above candidates qualify for <br /> the position, we recommend that Jean Baggs be appointed to the <br /> position.
