PERSONNEL BOARD MINUTES <br /> MEETING OF JANUARY 20, 1993 PAGE 2 <br /> Longevity Pay Increase <br /> The Board discussed submitting an article to increase the five-year <br /> longevity incremental increases by $50 . This article will bring the <br /> longevity rates in line with those in the Clerical contract . <br /> Educational Incentive <br /> The Board discussed adding the following wording to the P. A . P. <br /> Education Incentive clause : "and every year thereafter" . Bob <br /> Sullivan commented that if the unions keep that language in their <br /> contract, then the P.A. P. employees should have it . Board members <br /> were in agreement to have Rita discuss this subject further with the <br /> Executive Secretary. <br /> Cost of Livino Article <br /> After brief discussion relative to submitting an article for a cost <br /> of living increase for P.A.P. employees, the Board discussed the <br /> fact that all unions are currently in negotiation. Rita indicated <br /> that she would like to talk with Bob Whritenour about this article <br /> too . All members were in agreement . <br /> Personnel Department Budget <br /> With reference to the Personnel Department ' s budget and our FY ' 94 <br /> goals and plans, Rita advised the Board that we will be looking to <br /> be more closely involved with all personnel issues . We will be <br /> looking for compliance with the American Disability Act and will <br /> need to review our Town position descriptions . Jane Stockbridge <br /> indicated that the P.A. P. position descriptions were up-to-date in <br /> this respect as she took the handicapped law into consideration <br /> during her review of all those positions . The Personnel Assistant <br /> pointed out that the union positions needed to be reviewed . Our <br /> planned activities for FY ' 94 also include : <br /> . interview/process for hire a projected 15-20 individuals <br /> . continue review/changes to P.A . P. <br /> .Forms replacement/re-design <br /> .Begin review of Town Performance Goals setting/Performance <br /> Evaluation process/system <br /> . Work with Police Department in review of promotion testing <br /> policy <br /> Rita Sousa advised the Board that the Executive Secretary requested <br /> a statement with the budget for a Three-Year Plan and Outlook . We <br /> stated that we would be looking for personnel department staffing to <br /> accomplish our goals and for computer capabilities which will enable <br /> accurate and expeditious recording, tracking, and generation of <br /> Management Information Reports . <br /> Meeting adjourned at 3 : 10 p .m . <br /> Respectfully s mitted, <br /> �'1_4_�_ <br /> Maril n Farren <br /> Personnel Assistant <br />
