r <br /> COMPLEXITY <br /> This work in this class involves the application of <br /> accounting principals, procedures and techniques. Among <br /> other duties included is the reconciliation of 'cash, <br /> receivables etc. with the Treasurer and processes monthly <br /> closing entries . <br /> JUDGEMENT <br /> Assistant must exercise considerable judgement and <br /> understanding in the analysis and evaluation of data and <br /> information, including the evaluation of facts and <br /> circumstances surrounding individual problems, situations <br /> and transactions in order to determine the appropriateness <br /> of a given act or acts . <br /> SUPERVISION AND MANAGEMENT EXERCISED <br /> Assistant is a supervisor who provides assignments and <br /> technical advice to staff member(s) and many others <br /> inside the organization. When acting for the Town <br /> Accountant the Assistant assumes all responsibilities <br /> for the office operations and legal accountability for <br /> the functions of the Town Accountant . <br /> SUGGESTED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE <br /> A candidate for this class of position must be a high school <br /> graduate and a graduate of at least a two year course in <br /> accounting from an accredited business school or college. <br /> Prior experience in a municipal accounting environment is <br /> highly desirable. Candidate must be able to demonstrate <br /> possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities <br /> to perform this work. Equivalent experience may be <br /> substituted for college/busincee school training. <br />
