S <br /> PERSONNEL BOARD N41NUTES <br /> AUGUST 1, 1936 <br /> 470 Main Street <br /> Mashpee, lla. <br /> The following members of the Personnel Board were present: Carole Dunivan, <br /> Chairman, Ronald Levine, Clerk, Marcia Lindsey and Norma K min. <br /> Chairman Dunivan convened the meeting at 9:3 6 a.rn. <br /> Selection Process <br /> Selectman Ken Marsters met with the Board to discuss the Town's Selection Process, <br /> He explained that at the most recent Selectmen's meeting, they did not appoint ars <br /> Assistant Building Inspector. They reviewed the Administrative Secretary position <br /> and noted that only one candidate was recommended. Ken said that he was able to <br /> explain the process on this hire to the Selectmen since he was present at the interview <br /> and the appointment was made. However, some of the Selectmen felt that the Board <br /> should interview three candidates regardless. <br /> Ken went on the say that with.the Assistant Building Inspector position, he was not <br /> present during the interview process. There was only one candidate recommended <br /> for the position out of several applicants. The Building Inspector, Bill Hauck, was <br /> present at the Selectmen's meeting but was not able to articulate to tell the Selectmen <br /> the history.of the other candidates. <br /> Selectmen Marsters indicated that the Board of Selectmen would like to see three <br /> finalists on even position. The Selectmen want a member of the Personnel Board to <br /> attend the Selectmen's meeting to explain the interview process. It was discussed <br /> that the Chairman should attend the Selectmen's meeting to explain the process. <br /> Chain n.an I univan indicated that she would do that, however, she did not feel she <br /> should be there for every position such as seasonal positions. The Board also <br /> discussed the Personnel Ad tr�n strator attending the Selectmen's meeting along with <br /> the Chairman. All were in agreement. <br /> Norma mentioned that there was a recent process where the Personnel Board <br /> recorn ended three candidates and the Selectmen assumed that any one of the <br /> candidates would be fine--which was not the case. There were candidates more <br /> qualified than others and the recommendations were numbered 1, 2, and 3. <br /> Norma went oh to say that with the Economic Development Coordinator position, <br /> there was only one candidate as two others who had applied withdrew their <br /> application. <br />
