Marilyn noted that the <br /> department head has the authority to select the candidate. <br /> It was decided to survey the department heads to get some <br /> feedback about hiring part-time e em loyees for in-house positions. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Resignation of Ron Levine <br /> Marilyn read Ron' s letter of resignation to be effective October <br /> 1 , 1996 . The Personnel. Board will send a letter of appreciation <br /> to Ron for his time and efforts . Norma K. suggested inserting <br /> flyers about the Personnel Board openings into the Senior papers <br /> and have Leisure Services distribute then. Marilyn will follow <br /> this up. <br /> Tdate Liaison Sheet <br /> Marilyn distributed an updated Personnel Board Liaison sheet* <br /> Some changes were made to redistribute Town departments that <br /> were assigned to Ron Levine. Carole D. will add the Police <br /> Department, Norma K. will add the Harbormaster and Shellfish <br /> Commission, and Marcia L. will add the Building Inspector and <br /> Finance Committee, <br /> Approval roal of Job Descritions <br /> Marilyn distributed copies of job descriptions for a plumbing <br /> and gas inspector and an electrical inspector. The Board <br /> reviewed thein and made some changes . The Board agreed there <br /> is a need for ori-call assistant inspectors. Approval was <br /> postponed until Marilyn reviews the requirements for an <br /> electrical inspector with Bill Hauck, Marilyn will ask Bill <br /> if the Journeyman license corers all the requirements since <br /> the Master' s License requirement was crossed out <br /> Develoe DisciplinaryProcedures <br /> Marilyn distributed a copy of disciplinary action procedures . <br /> Carole D. stated the Board should not go any further unless <br /> directed by Bob Whritenour, and the pocedure should be <br /> consis ant for all employees . Carole D. suggested following <br /> the same procedure used for union employees . Marilyn will find <br /> out if the fire or police departments have a procedure for their <br /> part-time employees. Marilyn noted there is a grievance <br /> procedure for all employees . <br /> Job Vacancies <br /> Marilyn will advertise the part-tune clerk and inspector <br /> positions , and the interviews will be scheduled for "Thursday, <br /> October 31 , 1996 starting at 9 :00 a.m. <br />
