Mashpee waterways Commission <br /> C/o Mashpee Town Mall <br /> 16 great Neck Road North <br /> I lashpeei IIIA 02649 <br /> Minutes of the May 91h,2017 Meeting <br /> Chairman Bates called the meeting to order at 9:05 Aldi at the Mashpee Town Hall in the popponesset <br /> Meeting Room. <br /> Present: Iden Bates,Stan Healy,, Don Barton,, Don McDonald,Tim Leedham <br /> Absent:Al Wickel <br /> Also in attendance:Alec Turner, Harbormaster, Rick York, Natural Resources Director <br /> Minutes of the April 11th,2017 meeting were reviewed. Don McDonald ,rude the motion to approve the <br /> ,minutes, and 21,4 by Tim Leedhann,and unanimously approved. <br /> Appointments&Information Sessions: No updates <br /> Communications and Correspondence: with the recent resignation of Bill Taylor, lois letter of <br /> notification was forwarded to the Town ,,Manager and accepted by the Board of Selectman. His past <br /> contributions to the MWC are very much appreciated. A notice of vacancy for this position was posted <br /> in the local newspaper. Iden Bates indicated that a separate meeting will be scheduled to seely review <br /> applications and interview applicants for this vacant position. The objective is to complete this process <br /> and submit a recommendation to the Board of Selectman prior to the next scheduled MWC meeting on <br /> 13 June. <br /> Iden gates also requested Don Barton,, as the new Secretary,to coordinate with the Town Clerk's Office <br /> to insure that all recent minutes were on file and signed. It was also noted that the MMC information <br /> on Town website needed corrections and update on the meeting schedule and membership <br /> information. Ken asked Gorr to contact the Town IT Director to input the requested corrections. <br /> Old Business: <br /> Harbormaster Report—Alec reported a recent event where a paddleboarder made a911 call and he was <br /> contacted for assistance. It appeared that 4 paddleboarders were on Hamblin Pond and stiff winds <br /> separated this group and were shortly unaccounted for, while temperatures were dropping. All <br /> members of this group were recovered and brought to their residence. <br /> Alec also reported that all boats were cleaned and painted. Maintenance work continues to be <br /> undertaker. All markers are in place. He noted the glue Fin boat,stationed in Poppy, has a new 200HP <br /> outboard that greatly increases its response capabilities. Alec also mentioned that letters to mooring <br /> holders have been seat out. The letter urges holders to arrange for mooring inspections early in the <br /> season to help insure compliance in a timely fashion. <br />
