Mrs. Thomas said that she would support <br /> this issue if it is put on a later ballot. <br /> 3 . school Building Committee . Bob James , Admininstrative <br /> Assistant to the Superintendent of School, was present for the Super- <br /> intendent. He- stated that the meeting with the Board was requested <br /> to present information* lir. James stated that there is a, need for <br /> funds and that Dr. Nicholson- is asking for an item to be put on the <br /> agenda. for Special Town meeting fo ,j,=such items as topographical maps , <br /> boundaries , bio-technical reports , landscaping, structural. information. <br /> There is no exact figure on these items as yet. Mrs . Thomas noted a. <br /> figure of $3 ,700. had been previously reported. Mr. James informed <br /> the Board that the School Building Assistance Bureau has contacted the <br /> School Building Committee indicating that it would be advantageous <br /> to apply for funding prior to the end of the school year. The School <br /> Building- Committee is now taking that information under advisement. <br /> Mashpee is currently eligible f.or° 70% funding and the Committee i <br /> • e full cost of the new school. <br /> considering requesting funding for u <br /> The Municipal Building Assistance Bureau has suggested that it would <br /> be wise to core forward now and get on the list under the existing law. <br /> Ir. Murphy noted that 6al million dollars has been requested to be <br /> included in the capital budget for article for Annual Town Meeting. <br /> He said, "Should you go beyond July 1 with Town Meeting authorization, <br /> there is the risk that State participation will be lesser thano %''' • <br /> School Buildin Committee members , who entered the meeting at this time , <br /> 9 <br /> stated that million dollars would be more realistic* Monetary <br /> figures in the proposed article are based on 6.1 million dollars and <br /> the debt issuance and interest costs have already been calculated and <br /> included. Committee repr%esenta.ti os stated that this issue will not <br /> be ready for dual Town Meeting, and that they will be looking for a. <br /> Special T own Meeting for perhapsJune 15. Mr. Hanson requested that <br /> the Committee put together all of the monetary iters including expense <br /> Of a Clerk--of-t .e-works , etc. as soon as possible . The Committee will <br /> find out exactly what the State expects in deadlines . <br /> Library Bui ld ink oma ,t e : carpeting* !r. <br /> S chaughne s s y was present to submit several bids and with the recommend- <br /> ation <br /> ecomr end-ati n of the Library Building Committee that the bid from Durkin's <br /> Inc . -- Contract Sales- in the amount of $6 ,210.00. be accepted 4 Mrs , <br /> Thomas moved to accept the bid of Durkin's Inc. - Contract Sales to <br /> furnish, deliver and install carpeting at the new Mashpee Public <br /> Library in accordance with Town of Mashpee "Invitation for Bids" and <br /> "Specifications -for carpe ging" s said bid in the amount of $6 ,210,00, <br /> Mr. Lawrence seconded the motion* 'The vote was unanimous . <br /> 4 <br /> LVET BUSINESS: <br /> 1. Conservation Commission re : appointment to fill <br /> , . <br /> vacanc .._ A vacancy has existed since October 23 , 1986, The Commission <br /> has received two applications from Mse Heathen .
