fi. <br /> Board of Selectmen Page Two <br /> Regular Meeting <br /> Wednesday, February 18, 1987' <br /> become effective July 1, 19 Mr. Murphy noted that under the terms <br /> f the job description of Administrative Assistant acced by Local <br /> #254 and the Town in April of 1986, Mrs . Horton does not meet the <br /> minimum experience requirements on JulY 1, 1987. She will meet the <br /> standards in December of 19 The Board members unanimously agreed <br /> to take the matter under a.dvis ev ent. Mro Murphy will meet t with Chief <br /> Frye to discuss the situation. <br /> Old- Business : <br /> 1. Board of Health re : mini-transfer station. In <br /> memorandum dated February 6 , 1987, the Board of Health has proposed <br /> an alternate solution to the trash/landfill problem. It was suggested <br /> that the Town purchase two trash packing trucks and hire the required <br /> manpower and transport trash directly to Otis . Mr. Murphy r will arrange <br /> meeting with the Board of Health to discuss this proposal. <br /> 2. Executive Office of Communitiesr...and Development, <br /> This Office is requesting nominees for Gubernatorial appointment for <br /> the State seat on the Mashpee dousing Authority Board to fill the <br /> vacancy created by the resignation of Pricilla Hari. Mr. Hanson <br /> authorized Mr. Murphy to respond to the Office with the information <br /> that the Town 'is working diligently to fill this vacancy. <br /> 3 . Division of Marine Fisheries . The Board of Selectmen <br /> has received two communications from the Division regarding the status <br /> of shellfish areas , The graters and flats and all tributaries • thereto <br /> of S antuit River are now open for she llfis ing. The waters and flats <br /> and all tributaries thereto of Shoestring Bay and Santurt River north <br /> of a, line drawn east for a, distance of apprOximatel 150 meters from <br /> the wooden pier due east of the junction o Ja.ckbon Road and Quaker <br /> Run Road to the wooden pier on the property at 72 Cla. ishell Point Lane <br /> are closed to shellfishing for axe additional thirty days . <br /> . Personnel Board re : res identia:l preference hiring_. <br /> The Board of Selectmen has received a memorandum dated Febru'arY 3 , <br /> 1987 in which the Personnel Board stating that that Board is aware <br /> of the Town By-law relative to residential preference of candidates . <br /> 5 <br /> ' ',s Water District.._meet ink. Mrs . Thomas suggested that <br /> the Board of Selectmen hold an open meeting with the public on March-v-9. <br /> 1987 at the school to discuss and answer questions relative t-o the . <br /> Water District. She uggeted that the entire text concerning this <br /> matter be published in newspaper on March 6 . 1987. Mr, Hanson stated <br /> that he was in agreement with these suggestions . <br /> 6.
