The Board of <br /> Selectmen unanimously agreed that this slot on the Zoning Special <br /> Town Meeting be closed. <br /> NEW BUSINESS : <br /> 1. Police Department - Step Increase . After noting <br /> that Patrolman David Bangs has received a satisfactory performance <br /> rating for the period of February 11, 1986 to February 11, 1987 , <br /> Chief Frye requested that Patrolman Bangs be advanced from Step II <br /> to Step III effective February 11, 1987. Mrs . Thomas moved to approve <br /> this recommended Step Increase . Selectman Lawrence seconded the <br /> motion. The vote was unanimous . <br /> 2 . Mas <br /> hpee Youth Commission. In their separate letters <br /> to the Board ofSelectmen, Doris Hendricks and Elizabeth Hostutier <br /> submitted their resignations from this Commission. Mrs . Thomas <br /> moved to accept the resignation of Doris Hendricks and of Elizabeth <br /> Hostutier from the Mashpee Youth Commission and Mr. Lawrence seconded <br /> the motion. The vote was unanimous . <br /> 3. Snow and Ice Removal - deficit.. In his memorandum <br /> of February 19 , 1987, the Executive Secretary requested the Board of <br /> • Selectmen and the Finance Committee to authorize the expenditure of <br /> an additional $50 ,000, to what was appropriated at the Annual Town <br /> Meeting for snow and ice removal. Mr. Murphy noted that the Town <br /> has received an amount of $2,884. from the State Loterry distribution. <br /> Mrs . moved to vote to approve the snow and ice deficit spending of <br /> an additional $50,000. Mr. Lawrence seconded the motion. The vote <br /> was unanimous . <br /> 4. Letter of Interest re : Civil Defense Director. Lep <br /> P. Turo has expressed his interest -in this position via his communi- <br /> cation dated February 19 , 1987. The 'Board unanimously agreed to take <br /> this matter under advisement. <br /> 5• Abatement of two ambulance bills . The Executive <br /> Secretary explained these two situations in his memorandum of <br /> February 23, 1987 regarding Patrolman Barry and in a memorandum <br /> of February 17 , 1987 regarding William R. Williams , Jr. The <br /> ambulance bill in both cases was $59.00. Mrs . Thomas moved to abate <br /> the ambulance bills in the amount of $59.00, each. Mr. Lawrence <br /> seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous . <br /> 6. Department of Revenue . This communication from the <br /> Commonwealth Commissioner of Revenue informs that there is $2 ,884. <br /> to offset the deficit for snow and ice removal. <br /> 7. Articles for Annual Town Meeting. The Executive <br /> Secretary noted that several articles by petition have been submitted. <br /> He stated that all have been forwarded to the Town Clerk and have been <br /> certified as having a sufficient number of signatures for inclusion on <br /> the Warrant. <br />
