Mr. Malone was a. member of the disbanded <br /> Cable Advisory Committee . Mrs . Thomas roved to appoint Matthew Malone <br /> to a tree-year tern on the Cable Advisory Committee , The vote was <br /> unanimous . <br /> 7. Request for Legal Services . T .e Board of Appeals <br /> requested the services of Ton Counsel on April 5 , 1987, such services <br /> necessary to be provided by April. 22 , 1987 . The request concerns the <br /> application of John Malloy for a Special Permit to construct a, single- <br /> family dwelling within Flood Blain A. It was unanimously agreed that <br /> the ratter should come before Town Counsel. <br /> . The <br /> Youth Commission and the Parks and Recreation De pa tment would be <br /> entirely responsible for the entire cost including operatio a. The <br /> Board o f Selectmen unanimou l agreed that the Commission a f the Park <br /> and Recreation Department could initiate this purchase by making an <br /> inspection. They will report at a later date as to how they intend to <br /> solicit donations for purchase . <br /> 9. Assistant Town Planner - termination of contract. <br /> Mark S . Smith, Assistant Town tanner, informed the Board in a. letter <br /> dated April 8, 1987 of his decision to terminate his contract a <br /> Assistant Town Plannero lr o Smith will work trough Friday, June 5, <br /> 1987. Selectwoman Thomas roved to accept the resignation of Mark S . <br /> Smith effective June 5, 1987. mrs Hanson seconded the motion, The <br /> vote was unanimous ,, <br /> WATER COMMISSION: <br /> Chairman Thomas s tat e d I that the Commissioners have -received <br /> the weekly report for the week ending April 5, 1987. She noted that <br /> the report of E. C. Jordan on Task 3-1 axed Task 1 on the water supply <br /> study at the Base has been received. Also , the Town Clerk has submitted <br /> a. list of voters within the water district area. <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HE ARI NGS : (cont . ) <br /> 4. Library Building Committee . Mr. Schaugnessey was <br /> present to discuss the Library Construction Contract, particularly <br /> Charge order #1. He submitted Change Order No. 1 from Gaffney <br /> Associates , Inc . for perusal and approval. Approval of this Change <br /> Order would increase the cost of the project from $458,000.00. to <br /> '$ " l,680. 3. The contract time would be increased by fifty days . <br /> Mr. Hanson questioned items Nos , 4. 8, and 9 on the Charge Order and <br /> will require more information.a.tion.
