Appropriation was <br /> made at Annual, Town Meeting for four trucks , The ]director of the <br /> DPW made recommendations in his memorandum dated April 1 1987. <br /> In regi ew,, Mr. Murphy stated th a the recommended bids did meet <br /> specifications and in all cases they were the lowest, eligible , <br /> qualified bidder. Mr. lawrence moved that the Board of Selectmen <br /> accept the bid for Truck #1 of Bucklers GMC in the amount of <br /> $59,825, 00, ; for Truck #2, the bid of Clauson Chevy Olds in the <br /> amount of $16 ,894.03. ; for Truck #3 , the bid of Bucklers GIC in <br /> the amount o $25 ,337 .00; and for Truck #4, the bid of Clauson <br /> Chevy olds for $13 ,939.88. Selectman Gottlieb seconded the motion. <br /> The vote was unanimous . <br /> ' . Department of Public works re : trash. The Director <br /> of Public works referred to his memorandum of May " , 1987 as well <br /> as a memorandum from the Board of Health and a. letter from Town <br /> resi en Sidney Stern. ., Jr. on the subject of illegal debris <br /> dumping. Mr. Virgilio noted that the Board of Health being the <br /> controlling agent of the Town landfill does charge a, fee for the <br /> dumping of __diverse materials rials a. the landfill. After discuss-ion, <br /> it was unanimously agreed that the Board of Selectmen will make <br /> written communication with the Board of Health requesting that <br /> in light of this serious problem, they reconsider their policy con- <br /> cerning fee charging for debris such as building materials , a.uto-- <br /> ma.tie parts , appliances and the like , in addition to common trash. <br /> The Board: of Selectmen will .lso - request., xe aexplanation of- the - <br /> a <br /> f- the - <br /> a,rranger ent with- the �-landfIll operator to=--a: ce t_ certain items r such <br /> as stbel for which he is somehow reimbursed or something. <br /> 8. Department of Public works re : e ai <br /> arrs to private roads . <br /> Mr. Virgilio stated in his memorandum dated MaY 7v that the <br /> Department has received several requests for emergency repairs to <br /> private roads , the specific roads noted in said memorandum. He <br /> stated further that he is requesting authorization from the Board <br /> of Selectmen to expend $1,500.00. , such sum now being available in <br /> the account at this time , for pot hole repairs , drain cleaning, <br /> overhanging brush removal and grading. Selectmen Gottlieb moved <br /> that the Board of Selectmen authorize the expenditure of the sure of <br /> $1,500-00. for repairs to riva.te roads listed. Select aan Carter <br /> seconded the motion, The Grote was unanimous , <br /> Water Commission: <br /> Chairman Thomas stated that the new Vater Commissioners <br /> will be meeting Thursday p May 14, 1987 a 7:00 P.
