It was recommended that this be referred to the <br /> Parks & Recreation Department since that Department has control . <br /> over the bailfield. Mr. Murphy stressed that a response is re- <br /> quired as soon as possible . Mr. Hanson recalled that there were <br /> some problems with this activity last year and recommendations <br /> were to be drawn up concerning this and Similar activities .. Mrs <br /> Lawrence noted that there were problems and discussion last year <br /> regarding fee schedules , The Chairwoman suggested that a, copy of <br /> the recommendations for activities such as this be given to each <br /> member of the Board for perusal and that the matter be placed o <br /> the agenda for the re.gula.r meeting scheduled to be held on May 20, <br /> 1987. Board members unanimously agreed to the Chairwoman's sugg- <br /> estion, <br /> 3 . Personnel Board re : beach attendants . The Personnel. <br /> Board submitted amemorandum dated May 11 , 1987 requesting the <br /> appointment of Maria Turner and Sandra Jeffries as beach attendants <br /> for the Parks and Recreation -Department to be assigned as Beach <br /> Sticker Sales Attendants as outlined in a memorandum from the Director <br /> of Parks and Recreation dated Ma.Y 5, 1987 , Mr. Lawrence moved to <br /> appoint Maria. Turner and Sandra Jeffires to the position of Beach <br /> attendant from Jure 1, 1987 to September 8, 19 at a pay rate of <br /> $3.89. per hour until new rates become effective on July 1, 19876 <br /> Mr. Gottlieb seconded the motion-,p Mr. Carter voted in -favor of <br /> the motion, Mr. Hanson abstained from voting. The motion was <br /> carried. <br /> . Fuel oil Bids . Mr4. Murphy reported that the County <br /> Of Barnstable has opened bids for the collective purchase of fuel <br /> oil for the fl.s cal year beginning gJuly 1, 1987 . He referred to <br /> his memorandum of May , 1987 regarding this <br /> smatter. Mr. Lawrence <br /> moved that the Board of selectmen accept the bid of Belcher New - <br /> ngland, Inc . of Revere to provide #2 fuel oil in the "motor trans- <br /> port" delivery mode at a. bid price of 2.22 cents operating expense <br /> and profit and to accept the bid - of - M ran - Oil Heat, Inc . ' of <br /> Worcester to provide #2 fuel oil in the so-called "tank wagon" <br /> delivery mode .a.t 9.2 cents operating expense and profit above the <br /> wholesale price with an 8.95 cent discount if the rbiil is paid <br /> w*thin twenty days . Selectman Carter seconded this motion. The <br /> vote was unanimous . <br /> 5. Tax Billing for: F _ . The Executive Secreta.ry referred <br /> to a, memorandum of the Board of Assessors dated May 1, 1987 in which <br /> it is stated that the tax rate will be set sometime in August and <br /> in time for a mailing date Of September Z, 1987 .
