Police Department re -budgetcut-backs , Deputy Police <br /> Chief, Maurice- o d e r requestecl in his memorandum o the Board of <br /> Selectmen dated Jure 5, 1987 that the Board meet with himself and <br /> the Chief of the Department to discuss Police Department budge ting <br /> restraints that may take effect July 1 1987 if the Proposition 2 <br /> override does not prevail.. Such a meeting .will be scheduled for <br /> June 17, 19879 <br /> o Proposed closure of Town Hall during Special Elections * <br /> Jane Ia.bure , Town Clerk, reported in a memorandum dated June 1, -1987' <br /> that the Board of Registrars voted four to none in favor of the clo- <br /> sure <br /> 1o- <br /> sure of Town Hall during special elections scheduled to be held on <br /> June 3o , 1987 and July 28, 1987 , Mr. Hanson suggested relocating <br /> to the school for the July 28 , 1987 election as classes will not be <br /> in session. The June 3o, 1987 elections have already been advertised <br /> as being held at Town Ball and cannot be relocated, r, ' Murphy will <br /> investigate the possibility of utilizing the school for the July 28,. <br /> 1987 elections and report back to the Board, <br /> APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS (cont. <br /> 2. Waters-ports , Ltd. - beachfront concession. l igue l <br /> Lopes , Owner/operator of wa.tersports , Itd. , appeared before the <br /> Board to discuss a proposal of negotiating beachfront space to offer <br /> to the general public recreational watercraft rentals . Proposed <br /> watercraft c v� tier include : jet skiing, -sailboarding, water <br /> skiing, da.ysailing and other recreational activities associated <br /> with bodies of water. Sites of interest for the concession are <br /> South Cape Beach, John's Pond Park Beach and wa.keby Pond . Mr. Lopes <br /> submitted proposals and supporting information-* ' The proposal was <br /> unacceptable to the Board of Selectmen at this time for environmental <br /> and enforcement reasons and because of a lack of recommendations from <br /> South Cape Beach, Ata uin Park: John's Pond , waterways and Parks and <br /> Recreation. The Director of Parks and Recreation was present and <br /> expressed a willingness to further discuss this proposal with Mr. <br /> Lopes , <br />
