Seconsett Island Association re : block arty, <br /> Hay Perry, President of the Association, was present on behalf of <br /> the Association to discuss a block <br /> party planned for August Z, 1987 <br /> and to request permission to block off Riverside Road for this event. <br /> Where is a private way that separates Bay View and Riverside Roads <br /> and permission is requested to use that road. In a memorandum dated <br /> June 1 ,1987 , Police Chief Frye stated that the Department has no <br /> objection to the blocking off of Riverside Road for the purpose o <br /> holding this block party provided the barrages used to block vehi- <br /> cular traffic can be easily removed in an emergency to allow un- <br /> interupted passage of police and fire vehicles . He also stated <br /> that at this time , he anticipates no need for the Association to <br /> provide a. Detail Police Officer. Ms. Perry presented a, plan for <br /> the proposed road blockage. Mr. Lawrence moved to. approve this re-- <br /> quest as presented, Mr. Gottlieb seconded the motion. The vote was <br /> unanimous . <br /> 5. Council on Aging - Eleanor Be Hatcher* Mrs. Hatcher, <br /> long-time volunteer for the Council, appeared before the Board and <br /> noting that "I 'm appe in strictly on my own" proceeded to read <br /> from her letter of June 2 1987 to the Board of Selectmen. This <br /> letter briefly reviewed some Council issues and contained several <br /> recommendations to assist in the forward development of the Mas hp e e <br /> Cuni.l on Aging. <br /> 6. Mashpee..,Arts Council. Jane Coogan, Chairwoman, appeased <br /> to request that the Board of Selectmen a.ppo.int Joan Muse , Wendy Rubin, <br /> and Aline Amesbury to the Mashpee Arts Council Board for teams of two <br /> years each and to serve until June 30, 1989 when reappointments may <br /> be made for a second two-year term, according to State Guidelines <br /> Lawrence moved that the Board of Selectmen appoint Jon Muse , <br /> Wendy Rubin, and Aline Amesbury to the Mashpee Arts Council Board <br /> for -teras of two years each e 1 r'. Danson seconded the motion. The <br /> vote was unanimous . Mrs .. C oga announced that A .t* La s , Treasurer <br /> of the Council, is resigning after six years of service and requested <br /> that the Board of Selectmen write a, letter of appreciation to him. <br /> Mrs. Coogan submitted an up-date report for the information of the <br /> Board. In a memorandum dated June 22, 1987 From the Executive Secre- <br /> tary, reimbursement of expenses incurred for Council endeavors and <br /> Particularly those incurred by Mrs , Coogan were discussed. Accord- <br /> ing to the memorandum, the re ues t for reimbursement which is out- <br /> standing isin the amount of438.12. for mileage of 1,972 miles <br /> .210 per mile with an additional $24.00. in expenses . Reimbursable <br /> telephone expense Of $381-57. was agreed to be paid to Mrs . Coogan <br /> from the Municipal Board Epens e Account according to the memorandum. <br /> Where appeared to be a question of whether or not there would be <br /> sufficient monies left in that account after reimbursements to other <br /> Boards to# paythe reimbursement for mileage a noted herein. Ir , <br /> Coogan � a.intains that mileage expense i approximately $189.'00',, for <br /> reimbursement re as ons . There appears to be an amount of $20,76, due <br /> to be paid to the Parks and Recreation Department for telephone <br />
