BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES REGULAR SESSION <br /> TUESDA 9 FEBRUARY 219 1989 <br /> PACE TWO <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> # (Cont. ) <br /> Theresa Hyde-Reed expressed her concerns relative to the <br /> Council ori Aging and the fact that the Director of the <br /> Council would report to the Director of Human Services - who <br /> would have a final say on issues relating to the Council in <br /> the case of disagreement? <br /> Tom Fudala stated that he felt thank the role of the Human <br /> Services Cabinet needed clarification. He also stated that <br /> he felt staffing in certain areas was thin. <br /> Mr. Lawrence stated that it would be helpful if Mr. Carter <br /> and Mrs, Jacobson would meet with various departments and <br /> 0 committees on an individual basis . <br /> Mr, Tarry stated that 'the Community School Board was <br /> scheduled to meet on March 14, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. and that <br /> Selectmen are invited to discuss this matter with the <br /> Community School Board at that time. <br /> Dr. DeMoura and Torn FudalaN attended to discuss school <br /> sites, Lir. DeMoura stated that the enrollment projections <br /> had been reworked to look t school facilities from 1985 <br /> through 2020. He also stated that by 1991 there would be 32 <br /> classrooms of students . The year 2000 would require 44 <br /> classrooms of students at the middle school lerre1 . <br /> Dr. DeMoura recommended the construction of a new elementary <br /> school as soon as possible to open in 1991 h -- 4 . In <br /> addition, in approximately two years, the planning o <br /> Junior/senior high scho1 - grades 7 - 12 to open in 1995, <br /> Also necessar wou l d be another middle schoo l to open in <br /> 1998 and an additional elementarY school to open in 2005. <br /> Dr. DeMoura presented the School Committeeos recommendations <br /> relative to school sites <br /> The School Committee felt that Conservation land should not <br /> be considered at this time. The parcel recommended for the <br /> elementary schoo l needed as soon as PossIble would be the <br /> Walter Mingo property. The parcel recommended for the <br /> second elementary sch l site 2005 would be Heritage Park. <br />
