BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES REGULAR SESSION TUESDA 9 FEBRUARY 219 1989 PACE TWO APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS # (Cont. ) Theresa Hyde-Reed expressed her concerns relative to the Council ori Aging and the fact that the Director of the Council would report to the Director of Human Services - who would have a final say on issues relating to the Council in the case of disagreement? Tom Fudala stated that he felt thank the role of the Human Services Cabinet needed clarification. He also stated that he felt staffing in certain areas was thin. Mr. Lawrence stated that it would be helpful if Mr. Carter and Mrs, Jacobson would meet with various departments and 0 committees on an individual basis . Mr, Tarry stated that 'the Community School Board was scheduled to meet on March 14, 1989 at 7:30 p.m. and that Selectmen are invited to discuss this matter with the Community School Board at that time. Dr. DeMoura and Torn FudalaN attended to discuss school sites, Lir. DeMoura stated that the enrollment projections had been reworked to look t school facilities from 1985 through 2020. He also stated that by 1991 there would be 32 classrooms of students . The year 2000 would require 44 classrooms of students at the middle school lerre1 . Dr. DeMoura recommended the construction of a new elementary school as soon as possible to open in 1991 h -- 4 . In addition, in approximately two years, the planning o Junior/senior high scho1 - grades 7 - 12 to open in 1995, Also necessar wou l d be another middle schoo l to open in 1998 and an additional elementarY school to open in 2005. Dr. DeMoura presented the School Committeeos recommendations relative to school sites The School Committee felt that Conservation land should not be considered at this time. The parcel recommended for the elementary schoo l needed as soon as PossIble would be the Walter Mingo property. The parcel recommended for the second elementary sch l site 2005 would be Heritage Park.
