■ <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY** IARCH 13v 1989 <br /> PAGE TWO <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> Chief Frye and Chief Ridgeway attended to discuss <br /> dispatching needs. All agreed that there should be a <br /> consolidated system between the two departments <br /> Mr. Carter moved to chance the Torn Meeting article <br /> concerning the hiring of full -time di patcher tothree <br /> full-time dispatchers to the Police Department, Mr, <br /> Gottlieb seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> The Board requested Chief Frere and Chief Ridgeway to <br /> determine what the difference between three and four full - <br /> time <br /> ll - <br /> time d i sp t h r s would mean in cutting overtime costs, <br /> Deputy Chief Cooper attended to explain the request of the <br /> Police Department for additional Police Officers three <br /> patrolmen and one sergeant) , <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> 11 Mr. Gottlieb reported to the Board on his inspection of the <br /> section of Old Barnstable Road that iS schedu l ed for <br /> alignment and tree removal . Mr. Gottlieb advised the Board <br /> that he and Mr. Virgilio had agreed that where p 5sib1 t to <br /> shift the road where there is a need for widening over <br /> towards the unpopulated side of the roadway, re5Ulting in <br /> minor tree removal . Further, Mr. Virgilio agreed to <br /> minimize the extent to which shoulders are necessary. Mr. <br /> Gott l i eb stated that the trees that were originally marled <br /> for removal would be flagged, indicating to the tree company <br /> that they should not be removed. <br /> Mr. Carter moved to have the Department of Public Works <br /> begin work on Old Barnstable Road. her, Hanson seconded the <br /> motion. All were in favor. <br /> Mrs. Jacobson suggested that an article requesting that Old <br /> Barnstable Road be designated as a scenic roadway be on the <br /> warrant for the next avaitable Town Meeting. <br /> i <br />
