y i <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MATES REGULAR SESSION <br /> MiAY 9 MAY 22, 1989 <br /> PAGE THREE <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> i <br /> 1 (Cont. ) <br /> Mrs. Jacobson mored to deny the granting of a new Common <br /> Victualler All Alcoholic Beverage License for the New <br /> Seabur r Company Limited Partnership (d/b/a New B abury <br /> Country Club) for the Mews Conference Center on the grounds <br /> that the public necessity and convenience would not be <br /> served in granting this IIcense as it would be detr1menta 1 <br /> to the immediate neighborhood as well a5 the Town; further <br /> that there are adequate licensed facilities in the area to <br /> serve the public, therefore there is no demonstrated public <br /> need, Mr. Hanson seconded the motion. Mr. Carter and Mr. <br /> Gottlieb were in favor. Mr. Lawrence abstained. <br /> Stephen Greelish, George Costa, Elias McQuaid representing <br /> the Board of Healthy and Town Counsel Joseph Reardon <br /> attended to discuss illegal dumping in the Town. <br /> Mr. Reardon discussed two proposed articles dealing with <br /> i l l ega l dumping, the first bei n a by-law which would <br /> impose a maximum f line f $300. 00. The 5econd article would <br /> 5eek to have the Board of Health and its agents designated <br /> as enforcement off i vers to enforce the provisions of <br /> Chapter 270, Section 16 of the Massachusetts General Laws . <br /> Mr. Creelish was asked to bring the two proposed articles <br /> before the group that was recently formed to address <br /> illegal dumping in the Town for their input. <br /> . ' Rat Daley of the Cape Cod Planning and Economic Development <br /> Commission, William Shanahan of the Barnstable Counter Solid <br /> Waste Task Force and Virginia Valiela were present to speak <br /> to the Board about DEE's pending study of regional <br /> recycling options available to Cape Cod. <br /> Stephen Greellsh was designated to represent the Town of <br /> Mashpee on an Advisory Committee to DEQE. <br /> Mr. Gottlieb did not participate in this disusslon. <br /> 1 <br />
