Mr. Carter seconded the motion. <br /> All were in f avor. <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> . A public .eari g was held relative to the proposed 1989 <br /> Scallop Regulations . Paul Somerville reviewed the <br /> proposed regulations with the Board and noted that <br /> tai.ng scallops with the use of SCUBA gear or snorkel <br /> gear would now be prohibited* <br /> Muriel McGrath of Mo omosoot' Island stated that she was <br /> not in favor of prohibiting snorkeling. Mr. Hanson <br /> agreed, tati g that he felt that if would be unfair to i <br /> take away the rights of some- for the rights of others . <br /> suggestion was made relative to the issuance o <br /> citations when divers were not using flags . <br /> Mr. Somerville asked whether snorkeling could be <br /> prohibitedin the rain part of waquoit Bay but not in <br /> Great River. <br /> Mr. Carter moved to accept the 1989 Regulations for <br /> Scalloping, deleting the phrase a ing scallops with <br /> the use; of SCUBA gear or snorkel gear is prohibited* <br /> .
