Mr. Carter had advised them that <br /> these were open meetings . <br /> M . Carter stated that the issue relative to the Beach <br /> Superintendent had been resolved. <br /> Apparently swim markers at John' 5 John' Pond were missing. <br /> Mrs . Jacobson stated that they were ire place as o <br /> Sunday. <br /> The Personnel Board asked what should be done relative <br /> to the Permit Office. Mrs . Jacobson stated that t . <br /> person working in the Permit office was available <br /> through the end. of September. Mr. Carter stated that <br /> the employee was under the impression 'that the position <br /> terminated. at that time. It was agreed that this issue <br /> would be discussed next week <br /> There was a question relative to the appointment o <br /> Personnel o .rd members . The Personnel Board <br /> understood that the appointment for the first time <br /> would be for one year and thereafter, for three rear . <br /> . Carter stated that there 'is a letter from Town <br /> Counsel indicating that this was in fact the correct <br /> process . The Board requested a copy of this letter. <br /> 2. Mr. Lawrence moved to approve the use of out-of-state <br /> travel. and r Doul` Martin, Department Mechanic to <br /> attend a fire pump maintenance la in Eau Claire, <br /> Wisconsin, The total cost of the trip i $825 - 00 . Mr. <br /> Carter seconded the motion. All were in favor. <br /> . The Board agreed to refer a letter from Michael Forde <br /> relative to the placement of signs for OKTOBERFEST ) 89 <br /> to Mr. Nutting for his action. <br />
