BUFFLEHEAD BAY UPDATE Christooher Burden appeared before <br /> the Board to provide an update on Buff i ehead Bev* <br /> Mr . Burden stated that a convenience center will b ' l an d <br /> in the area south of the New Seabury Tennis Club on Great <br /> Oak Load. This onvenien e center could serve South <br /> lahpe, including New Seabury and Poponeet, as well a <br /> areas north of Red Brook Road and gest of the New Seabury <br /> boundary. <br /> The concept of an open space corridor that would connect <br /> South Cape Beach to the- center of -town (village) was also <br /> explained. The Town Planner is interested in a possible <br /> trade of qdditional land adjacent to South Cape Beach, <br /> owned by New Beabur y. <br /> Mr* Burden indicated that he had been encouraged by <br /> surrounding resident groups to proceed with the planS <br /> Mrs . Jacobson asked hc>w many homes would be built in the <br /> area. Mr. 'Burden stated that the preliminary f i ure is 530 <br /> homes on approximately 400 acres , <br /> Catherine Conroy asked how many acres had been set aside <br /> as commercial space, Mr. Burden stated that about four <br /> acres had been set aside. but no there were no plans for <br /> anything more than a convenient store at present. <br /> Mr, Lawrence was not present for this appointment. <br />
