• <br /> ,r <br /> ti y <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN <br /> MINUTES REGULAR SESSION <br /> MONDAY, DECEMBER 189 1389 <br /> PRESENT: Selectmen Gottliebg Carters Lawrence, Hanson, Jacobson, <br /> Interim Executive Secretary Jeffrey Nutting, Administrative <br /> Assistant Joyce Mason, Town Counsel Joseph Reardon <br /> GUESTS: Marilyn Ferren, Robert Sullivans Pet Coffey, June Daley, <br /> Gertrude Ferriday <br /> The meeting convened at p.m. <br /> MINUTES <br /> Mr, Hanson moved to accept the Regular Session minutes of December <br /> 1 1 , 1989, Mr. Lawrence seconded the motion and Mr. Gottlieb was in <br /> favor. Mrs . Jacobson abstained since she was not present for the <br /> meeting. Mr. carter was not present for the vote. <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> I . Personnel Issues - Cobert Sullivan and Marilyn Ferren <br /> attended to discuss a number- of personnel issues with the <br /> Board. <br /> There was discussion concernin benefits for part-time <br /> employees (those employees who work less than 20 hours per <br /> week) . The benefits provided would be sick, vacation and <br /> holiday time as well as edcuat i on benefits. Mr, Gott l i eb <br /> stated that this s ould include permanent, regularly <br /> scheduled part--ti e employees. The Board agreed that the <br /> Personnel Board should attend the next scheduled <br /> Selectmen's meeting and present their recommendations, <br /> The next item discussed was the recommendation of the <br /> Personnel Board for a 4% cost of living in rease for <br /> employees covered under the PAP. Mr. Nutting stated that <br /> this increase, along with a 4% step increase s ouk not be <br /> continued. Mr. Sullivan agreedg Stating that the <br /> evaluation process needs to be reviewed. All Board members <br /> agreed that there should not be an B annual increase and- <br /> that the automatic 4% step increase process needs to be <br /> revamped, The Board agreed to hold the recommendation <br /> until the - 1 Budget is addressed. <br />
