a <br /> Y <br /> M <br /> BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 2 <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAYs MARCH 49 1991 <br /> A1* catio � for Parade <br /> Bob Sullivan was present to discuss the license application <br /> as requested by the VFW for a parade to support the soldiers in <br /> Saudi Arabia. The scheduled date is March 30, 1991. <br /> They expect a large crowd with possible participants from Falmouth <br /> and Otis. Mashpee Commons is in favor and will hold special parade <br /> sales. <br /> Chief Frye has been notified. There should e no problem with <br /> � i <br /> the roads. He expects alot of volunteers in support. <br /> The parade route is approximately three riles starting at the <br /> Middle School, passing the Catholic Churcht around the rotary and <br /> down Great Neck Road North. <br /> It was also reported by Mr. Sullivan that all areas for the permit <br /> have been covered. This includes the schools, fire and health. <br /> Charles Ride, Francis Varino and Fred Peters from the VFW were also <br /> present to discuss the application, <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to accept theapplica- <br /> tion granting the parade on March 3o, 1991 with luck to the particapa its e <br /> The motion was seconded by Selectman Jacobson, The Grote is unanimous <br /> with the Board, <br /> VIGS Handbook: <br /> Bob Sullivan asked the Board to discuss the Volunteers in Govern- <br /> ment Service Handbook since more information needed to be explained. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board to discuss this at the next scheduled <br /> i <br /> meeting. <br /> x: 16 p.m. Steve Cadrin re: Coastline Clean�u Pros <br /> rrrr.r7rr��Wrrrr■f■�n��.�i -�Y...�,y� 1■r..r■■�i�■� <br /> Steve Cadrin discussed the coastline clean-up program with the <br /> Board. The clean-up program has been recommended to compliment the <br /> fail coastal sweep clean-up program* The date is scheduled for April. <br /> 20 and 21 1991 <br /> 99 <br /> This is Cape wide and each of the fifteen representatives from <br /> the fifteen towns are asked to be local coordinators. MrS Cadrin <br /> urges Mashp e e to be involved in the program. <br /> The cost would be nominal.. Most of the work would be dome by <br /> volunteers. There are sponsors to supply garbage bags and gloves, <br /> The Commission asks if the trash could be picked up at a specific <br /> point and accepted at the transfer station. The Commission would - <br /> like the Board' s support and discuss the santitation with the DPW. <br /> The Selectmen agree this is a great idea. The motion was made <br /> by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the Coastline Clean-up Program for <br /> the weekend of April 20, 1991. The motion was seconded by Selectman <br /> Jacobson. The Grote is unanimous. <br /> Dispatcher_ of the Year: <br /> Kevin Harrington has recommended Public Safety Dispatcher Gail <br /> McDonald be recognized for her professionalism and dedication of the <br /> people of Mashpee with a plaque. <br />
