The motion was seconded by Selectman Jacobson, <br /> The vote is unanimous with the Board. <br /> 7:21 pone fee Increases: <br /> Kevin Harrington has recommended an increase in the beach sticker <br /> fees and landfill Fees anticipating an increase in $35#000 in revenue <br /> to the town. <br /> Both stickers are issued on an annual basis, These are the only <br /> areas to increase revenue to the town. A survey was done of surround- <br /> ing communities and the increase is legitimate reports Mr. Harrington. <br /> The Finance Committee has not endorsed -heir support of the increase. <br /> Selectman Hanson and Selectman Lawrence are also opposed to the <br /> increase. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb is also opposed to the increase In the beach <br /> sticker fee with the reduction of services, He feels the landfill <br /> increase should rise, but not as high an increase as recommended, <br /> He has recommended an increase from $30. 00 to $35.00 or $30. 00 and $5. 00 <br /> for the second car. This would not effect all people and give the <br /> option for the second sticker. <br /> Selectman Jacobson is not in favor of raising the beach sticer <br /> fees unless the beaches are staffed. Mashpee is a, resort town. People <br /> Favor the beaches and fresh water ponds. It would not be appropriate <br /> not funding the lifeguards and gate attendants. She agrees to increase <br /> the landfill partially as recommended ended by Selectman Gottlieb. Select- <br /> ran Jacobson is opposed to the high increase of the landfill stickers. <br /> Kevin Harrington reports the town is not obligated to provide <br /> lifeguard services and the landfill is supported through fees. The <br /> fee has to be substantial whether its now or over a 'period of time. <br /> Selectman Carter is opposed to the increase of the beach sticker <br /> Fees. With the current state of the economy and the abatements, he <br /> does not recommend decreasing services in the beach area. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson not to increase the <br /> beach sticker fees and leave the current annual fee of $15. 00 for <br /> the beach sticker. The motion -was seconded by Selectman Hanson. The <br /> vote of the Board is unanimous, <br />
