He has suggested the one who uses the <br /> landfill three do es per week should be charged more rather than the <br /> resident who uses the facility once a week. <br /> Selectman Lawrence is opposed to any change in the fees. Select- <br /> man Jacobson reported that Mashpee is in the mid to low range of what <br /> other town' s are charged. <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to recommend end to the <br /> Board of Health to charge $30. 00 for a landfill sticker with a $5.00 <br />' additional charge for the second car. The motion was seconded b <br /> Selectman Jacobson. The vote is favorable 3,-2 with Selectman Lawrence <br /> and Selectman Carter in opposition. <br /> 7*840 p. . Leo Howard re: petition senior~ Center Bud et: <br /> Leo Howard presented a petition submitted to retain the full-time <br /> position of Council on Aging Director RobertConnell. The seniors <br /> do not want to lose Mr. Connell due to reduced hours with the possibility <br /> f expansion of the Senior Center. <br /> Records show the Senior Center is a second home to the elderly, <br /> They are dependant on the Center for thein health issues and social <br /> interaction. The seniors Feel:- reducing the directorship would not <br /> maintain the services as they should be. <br /> Mr. Howard expressed the money savings with .e?Tjloss of the DPW <br /> Director and decrease in snow removal this year. The center is not <br /> self sufficientp but does not drag the town with expenses. Mary <br /> people donate money to the center, <br /> Selectman Carter made mote of the numerous letters and inquiries <br /> on this discussion. He informs Mr. Howard that this is a proposal <br /> and the Board of Selectmen have not reached a decision on this ratter <br /> of concern. <br /> 7:45 Pomo Senior Center Building Committee; <br /> Charles Buckingham presented a plan of the proposed three level <br /> building for the Senior Center. As noted, the Friends of the Council. <br /> on Aging have aided in securing funds for the architectural and bid. <br /> documents. <br /> As cleared by the Board of Health# this loosed building will <br /> not enlarge the well requirements.
