5- L r � BOARD OF SELECTMEN MINUTES MONDAY, MARCH 189 1991 Present: Selectman Carter, Selectman Gottlieb, Selectman Jacobson, Selectman Lawrence Executive Secretary Kevin J. Harrington `own Counsel Joseph J. Reardon Absent: Selectman Hanson Guests: Robert Sullivan, Doug Boyd, Steve Greelisho David Bailey, George Costa, Chief Frye, Paul Somerville, Paul Ott, Jim Vaccaro, Ernest Virgilio, John Ferrldayo Ben Lofchie, Diane Romrelreyer The Meeting was Called to Order by vice-Chairman Jacobson at 7: 00 p.m. The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the minutes of March 4, 1991 Regular and Executive Sessions, The motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote of the Board is unanimous to approve the past minutes, APPOINTMENTS AND HEARINGS : 7: 00 -P.m. Parade: The participants of the Peoples Victory Parade will assemble at 10: 00 a.m. at the Mashpee Middle School as reported by Robert Sullivan. The 1. 6 mile parade will begin at 11* 00 a.m. on March 3o, 1991. Participants include the Mashpee School bands, Mashpee Fire and Rescue, Rod and Gun Club Members, VFW from Hyannis, Falmouth and Mashpee, Otis 102nd, the Potter House and local brownie troops, A limousine is available and three buses have been donated to transport the ' derly' and children* `here should be no problem with traffic reported Chief Frye, Five Police Officers will be stationed along the parade route and officers will patrol the finish area. The parade route was reduced from 3 wiles to 1. 6 miles for safety factors. The participants will parade onf the road on route 28, Mashpee Neck Rd. and the rotary in case of emergency access. Chief Frye has also recommended to close Job Fishing Road and Steeple Street to all vehicles from 10: 00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will be a. reviewing stand and podium in front of the theater in Mashpee Commons. Otis may possibly fly over at that point. Kevin Harrington asked Chief Frye if the State Police are involved in the coordination of the parade with route 28 involved? Chief Free reported there is no problem with that concern. The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to grant the parade permit for March 30, 1991 at 10: 00 a..m@ The motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence, The vote is unanimous with the Board. 7:10 p.m. Mashpee Wakeby .Pond Gate Kevin Harrington has recommended the revision of the existing regulations of the state ramp at lshpe / aeby Pond for fishing tournaments and public use, He has recently met with the Public Access Board to discuss this concern.
