BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 3 <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, I .A .CH 25, 1991 <br /> Additonal polling Place. <br /> The Town Clerk has asked the Board for suggestions for an <br /> additional polling place in lashpee. The state will mandate an <br /> i <br /> additional polling place at the end of the year 1991. <br /> The Fire Department was suggested, Mr. Harrington has talked <br /> with the Deputy Chief of this concern. The Board is not in favor <br /> since there is alot of activity with this department. The parking may <br /> become a problem, <br /> Selectman Lawrence has suggested Mr. Harrington speak with the <br /> `own Clerk of the available options. since there is currently <br /> i polling place in the north there should be one in the southern part <br /> of towns He also questions if 'it is necessary to have a polling place <br /> in a public building. The Board is in favor, <br /> Tern Nestin i <br /> The Massachusetts Audubon Society has requested a. "Ferns Nesting" <br /> sing be posted in the Mashpee areas where the birds nest. In specifics, <br /> it is in Popponesset Spit. The signs would be placed in April and <br /> removed in September, <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Jacobson to grant the posting <br /> of signs for Ferns Nesting, The motion was seconded by Selectman Hanson, <br /> The vote of the Board is unanimous, <br /> Application for Appointment as Constable for the Town: <br /> Ir* Ralph Derry was present to discuss his application for <br /> appointment as a Constable for the Town of Mashpee. He is currently <br /> appointed in the 'down of Falmouth. <br /> Mr. Perry was a Deputy Sheriff for Barnstable County for 29 years. <br /> He mentioned the many delinquent tax payers that have roved from <br /> Falmouth to Mashpee of which he has no jurisdiction. <br /> Selectman Jacobson rade mote that the Board has just recieved <br /> this request. It is not the polio of the Selectmen to act on items <br /> that have just been recieved. She asks lir. Harrington how many <br /> Constables currently service Ma.shpee' Mr. Harrington repls there are <br /> four* <br /> Mr. Harrington will submit the application to the Town Clerk. <br /> This information will be forwarded to the Police Departmerit.
