Selectman Gottlieb agrees it is <br /> very shallow in that area. <br /> Popponesset Bay is as good or better than last year reports Mro l <br /> Benway. The boats are both in and running fine. The assistaxy harbor- <br /> master will be returning this year at least until Junes <br /> I <br /> I y <br /> fir. Benway is glad to have two waterway assistants since his <br /> i <br /> department V took a large decrease in the budget. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb asked Nor* Benway of his expectation for the <br /> season before the nes} fundings The concentration is on the weekends <br /> for work ton hours per day. Mr. Benway is trying to be optimistic <br /> to do his best. Losing the administrative secretary will keep him in <br /> the office a bit more, <br /> Selectman Caffyn and Selectman Jacobson are concerned with contacting <br /> the Harbormaster. They both several times tried to reach Mr. Benway <br /> over the weekend and are concerned there was no answer or recording to <br /> reach him. <br /> Mr. Benway informed the Board the power to the answering machine- <br /> was unplugged due to work at the boatyard. He has a beeper in case of <br /> an emergency and can be notified through the Police Station. <br /> Mr. Benway Feels the large push on the season is July 4th wee ;end. <br /> Selectman Jacobson disagrees. We should be in place for Memorial Day <br /> weekend for public safety. <br /> Mr. Benway informed the Board there is $42. 00 left in his expense <br /> account. The boats are out of fuel and the phone bill is coming in. <br /> Selectman Caffyn has suggested the money be requested. Mr. Harrington <br /> will seek a. transfer of funds. <br /> Selectman Jacobson has suggested Mr. Benway meet with the Board on <br /> Thursday MaY 30, 1991 at 9: 30 p.m. for discussion of concern, <br /> In teras of the budget p Selectman Gottlieb would like to see <br /> additional finding from the Finance C mmett ee. He has recommended Mr. <br /> Benway schedule his expenditures so there will be enough money to cover <br /> I <br /> this period of time <br /> Selectman Jacobson noted she is extremely disappointed -there was <br /> not coverage and Mr. Benway was not available. <br /> Selectman Hanson noted it is good to know Mr. Benway can be reached <br /> through the Police Department in the event of an emergency. Some <br /> establishment of the Harbormaster' s hours should be accounted for. <br /> It is the consensus of the Board for hire to work out a schedule <br /> prior to the season as to where the tax dollars are going and the availab- <br /> ility of service <br /> 8 :44 p.m. Selectman Hanson has withdrawn his hold on the discussion <br /> of the auditor selection, <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to contract the services <br /> of Michael Cicoria for the School Department' s s FY 91 Fiscal Ana.ly'sib-* <br /> The motion was -seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote is favorable <br /> with the Board. The vote is 3-2 with Selectman Hanson and Selectman <br /> Gottlieb in opposition. <br />
