The assistaxy harbor- master will be returning this year at least until Junes I I y fir. Benway is glad to have two waterway assistants since his i department V took a large decrease in the budget. Selectman Gottlieb asked Nor* Benway of his expectation for the season before the nes} fundings The concentration is on the weekends for work ton hours per day. Mr. Benway is trying to be optimistic to do his best. Losing the administrative secretary will keep him in the office a bit more, Selectman Caffyn and Selectman Jacobson are concerned with contacting the Harbormaster. They both several times tried to reach Mr. Benway over the weekend and are concerned there was no answer or recording to reach him. Mr. Benway informed the Board the power to the answering machine- was unplugged due to work at the boatyard. He has a beeper in case of an emergency and can be notified through the Police Station. Mr. Benway Feels the large push on the season is July 4th wee ;end. Selectman Jacobson disagrees. We should be in place for Memorial Day weekend for public safety. Mr. Benway informed the Board there is $42. 00 left in his expense account. The boats are out of fuel and the phone bill is coming in. Selectman Caffyn has suggested the money be requested. Mr. Harrington will seek a. transfer of funds. Selectman Jacobson has suggested Mr. Benway meet with the Board on Thursday MaY 30, 1991 at 9: 30 p.m. for discussion of concern, In teras of the budget p Selectman Gottlieb would like to see additional finding from the Finance C mmett ee. He has recommended Mr. Benway schedule his expenditures so there will be enough money to cover I this period of time Selectman Jacobson noted she is extremely disappointed -there was not coverage and Mr. Benway was not available. Selectman Hanson noted it is good to know Mr. Benway can be reached through the Police Department in the event of an emergency. Some establishment of the Harbormaster' s hours should be accounted for. It is the consensus of the Board for hire to work out a schedule prior to the season as to where the tax dollars are going and the availab- ility of service 8 :44 p.m. Selectman Hanson has withdrawn his hold on the discussion of the auditor selection, The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to contract the services of Michael Cicoria for the School Department' s s FY 91 Fiscal Ana.ly'sib-* The motion was -seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote is favorable with the Board. The vote is 3-2 with Selectman Hanson and Selectman Gottlieb in opposition.
