Harrington <br /> Guests: George Costa., Al Pols., Paul Ott, Betty Jones, Dean <br /> Driscoll, Marie Sc alley <br /> The Meeting was Called to Oraer by Chairman Jacobson at 7: 00 p.m, <br /> MINUTES: <br /> Chairman Jacobson asked the minutes to be a.mmended to reflect on <br /> page one the correct spelling of Marie Sc alley. <br /> Selectman Gottlieb made the motion to approve the minutes of <br /> June 3, 1991 as amme .ded. The motion was seconded by Selectman Caffyn. <br /> The vote of the Board is unanimous to approve the past minutes. <br /> PUBLIC DISCUSSION : <br /> Chairman Jacobson rade note of the list of meetings 'scheduled <br /> for the month of June, It is important to be informed of the upcoming <br /> events. She made note of a meeting scheduled for Thursday June 20, 1991 <br /> at 2: 30 p.m. at the Cape Cod Commission Office with concerns of problems <br /> t the base, <br /> Marie Sca.11ey made note of her past discussion to clean--up the <br /> burial areas in �ashpee. I reporting to the Historical Commission, she <br /> obtained volunteers to aid in the clean-up process. They found the <br /> Lakewood C emeta.ry to be cleaned beautifully. The fantastic job was <br /> done by Errol dicks, Kevin Hicks, and Leigh Potter. A written report <br /> will follow the great job that was done. <br /> Selectman Jacobson made nate she has recieed follow up from the <br /> areas neighbors of the work that was done. <br /> George Costa was present to discuss the Commonwealth Electric Co. <br /> rate increase that will effect all taxpayers and residents of every <br /> cape town. He urges the Selbtnen t to support a letter to the Department <br /> of Utilities to oppose the rate increase that would double the rate <br /> in tomo <br /> Mr. Costa also requests the Board to oppose the New Bedford bus- <br /> inesses <br /> us-- <br /> inesses and industry request of a. energy cost to be charged to <br /> residential customers. <br /> He also noted the conservation and load inana.gement costs to b <br /> billed separate so customers can see what they are paying for, The <br /> decision should be reached by June 30, 1991a <br /> The motion was made by Selectman C of fyn to address the issue of <br /> Commonwealth Electric Co. rate increase request. The motion was seconded <br /> by Selectman Lawrence. The Grote of the Board is unanimous. The vote <br /> is 5-0. <br /> The' motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to send a setter to <br /> Commonwealth Electric Co, to address these concerns* The motion was <br /> seconded by Selectman Lawrence. <br /> Selectman Hanson has recommended that Kevin Harrington prepare <br /> the letter for the signature of the Chairman of the Board of selectmen, <br />
