f t BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 3 MINUTES MONDAY JUNE 24, 1991 • NEW BUSINESS: Waterway Assistants: The motion was made by Selectman Caffyn to discuss the appoint- ment of the waterway assistants. The motion was seconded by Selectman Hanson. The vote is unanimous with the Board. The vote is 4-0. 8:26 p.m. Selectman Gottlieb has arrived for the meeting. The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to hire Daniel Bohnen- berger and Eric Sabo as waterway assistants for the 1991 summer season. Paul Rhude will serve as replacement for the two applicants. The motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote of the Board is unanimous. The vote is 5-0. Town Insurance Program: Kevin Harrington asks the Board to discuss the Town Insurance Program although it is not an agenda item. It is the consensus of the Board to discuss this item. The current insurance agent for the Town is Paul Peters of Falmouth. Bids have been recieved from Lawrence Insurance Agency of Falmouth as well reports Mr. Harrington. The law is changing under Chapter 30B states Mr. Harrington where our insurance programs no longer need to follow this process. Of the two bids, Paul Peters is less deriving at the sum of $1349475. The Lawrence • Agency gave a sum of $139, 250. Paul Peters gives greater coverage to the Town where the Lawrence Agency has reduced liability coverages. Mr. Harrington does not recommend the Lawrence Agency for the Town insurance. Mr. Harrington respectfully requests the Board to consider the bid of Paul Peters Insurance for the term of June 30, 1991 to June 30, 1992. Selectman Hanson will abstain from voting ontthis issue since he deals with the company. The motion was made by Selectman Gottlieb to approve the insurance coverage from the Paul Peters Insurance Agency in Falmouth during the above dates. The motion was seconded by Selectman Lawrence. The vote of the Board is unanimous. The vote is 4-0. Town of Mashpee Administrative Plan: Mr. Harrington has worked on the administrative plan for the Town for the past six months. It gives -an opportunity to view our structure as to how we look as an organization internally. There are a number of communicationaareas Mr. Harrington believes we are negligent in. He has suggested a target date of October to persue changes and make them knowntcto the public. It is important the Board treat this seriously in careful discussion and consideration. . We are not as sufficient as we should be in terms of structure of where we look at our resources states Mr. Harrington. It is also important to maintain and attract the most qualified personnel.
