BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page 7 MINUTES TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 1991 • Sandwich/Mashpee Septage Treatment: to support the firm of Weston and Sampson under the same guidelines and pay their half of the study costs involved. Mr. Costa is in favor of the fifty--fifty basis with a guarantee to pay their half for the study regardless of the outcome. He would also like to have Bourne involved. Selectman Lawrence would like more time to review the letter he has just recieved to make sure we are all on the same wave 16ngth with the Board of Health. Selectman Jacobson suggests the Board meet with the Board of Health for discussion of this subject matter. 9: 10 p.m. Selectman Lawrence has left the meeting. Cape Cod Commission Meeting: Mr. Harrington made note he attended the Cape Cod Commission Meeting on August 13, 1991 and would like the direction from the Board as to his participation during the next scheduled meeting. It seems his presence at the meeting presented a problem. With a definite date, Selectman Jacobson suggests this be placed as an agenda item and the Board will direct Mr. Harrington• s participat- ion. • Selectman Caffyn is interested in knowing what this is. She is not aware of the projects such as the watte water treatment plant. If we are going to represent or agree, we should know what we are doing. Mr. Harrington agrees and will present an update of the information to the Board. 9:14 p.m. Hurricane Bob: A letter was recieved from Mrs. Jorgenson with concerns of the lack of communication from our Town officials reports Mrs. Jacobson. Due to the nature of the storm Selectman Jacobson reports it was nearly impossible with the few phones in operation. The letter has been discussed with Mrs. Jorgenson reports Selectman Jacobson. If it happens again, we will hopefully improve our per- formance and many places were notified as we could during the storm. She has suggested the Board of Health produce a flier of necessary information in the event of power loss. With concerns of the brush pick-up, it is being done reports Mr. Harrington. Areas have been outlined for debris pick-up. The DPW will do a combination of debris and chipping to remove the storm damage. A schedule should be published. Mr. Harrington also noted he will be meeting with FEMA representa tives on Wednesday with the Town Accountant and Mr. Narr to discuss funding. Selectman Jacobson also noted that Mashpee did file a FEMA report in a timely fashion for public knowledge. The Board was also informed that Mr. Dick French of Commonwealth Electric is on vacation at this time. A meeting will be scheduled when he returns.
