{
BOARD OF SELECTMEN Page
MINUTES
MONDAY,. .SEPTEMBER i 1991 u
Recreation Centers.
There is nothing on record of another appraisal states selectman
affyn# I don' t recall paying for one states Mr. Harrington, This
one was a cost to the Town of $750. 00 states Selectman Gaff n. Field' s
Point did not pay them. This is the appraisal on File that says the
value is $750-850, 000.
It had two development plans that were drawn by the Town Planner,
Torn Fuda.la states selectman Caffyn. Which I thought interesting
because if we are going to give the land away I don't know why we
would want to use our Town Planner. But, it is a. way to establish
value,
Why do you plan on giving the land away asks Mr. Carter? We are
giving it up states Selectman -Caffyn, I would like to finish she
states, We are giving it up. There are two cluster, subdivision
sk
etch . and a- convential subdivision sketch Anyone is available to
read these. The value placed on this lard was .$750-850,'0-00.
So to start ofd', I don' t know where because I have Found nothing
in any of the records states Selectman.. C aff n to establish your beg-
inning estimate of value o $550, 000.
My second question is when you rade this exchange, on the contract,
how much land were you giving on the contract asks Selectman Caffyn
As of exhibit A. What does exhibit A mean'
Well first -of all states lir. Caster,. there is no contract. Where
has been a proposal. It was never signed or accepted. It had been
voted on as an agreement states Selectman Caffyn. Absolutely states
Mr. Caster.
The agreement was voted on in Executive Meeting and approved states
Selectman Caffyn. It was voted and approved to persue it states lir.
Carter. We sent 'it to Joe Reardon and we would of then brought in
front of the Town.
Whatever you call whatever you voted on, it says exhibit A states
Selectman Caffyn. What, does that represent in acreage? How much acreage
were you trading? Whatever is the dispute states lir. Carter. If Town
Counsel would. . . What acreage would it have been? I can' t tell you,
whatever is the exact dispute.
As far as I know from talking to Nor. Reardon and I guess Mr. Reardon
will have to clear it up, I guess we are still under dispute states
Selectman Caffyn, Both parcels are now in dispute informs Counsel..
In other words, the Town of Mashpee is claiming ownership to the Aaron
Keeter parcel which is the large parcel and the Town of Mashpee is claim-
ing ownership to the Nicholas Keeter parcel which is the small parcel.
Both parcels are before the land court and it is my position as
Town Counsel that the Town of Mashpee owns both o those parcels.
And so one is eight acres asks selectman Jacobson# ghat is the other
acreage?
36-58 acres informs Selectman Ca `fyn. To the best of any knowledge,
it has never been accurately surveyed stated Counsels The smaller
piece, the Nicholas Keeter parcel was accurate.y surveyed states Counsel,
Fields Point paid for that survey. There was an agreement with Field'
Point and the Town resolving the dispute,
