BOARD of SELECTMEN Page <br /> MINUTES <br /> TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15 , . 1991 <br /> 7 : 15 p.m. Greg Taylor, Director of Public Works : <br /> Mr . Taylor acted he is workingon a program with the <br /> Police and Fire Departments on road repairs and improvements <br /> for both public and private roads. <br /> Points to be prioritized include isolated areas that need <br /> improvements related to safety and roads for consideration under <br /> general improvement under chapter 90 . <br /> The Town bylaw asks the Board of Selectmen to review and <br /> make the appropriate determination of private ways for consider- <br /> ation by March. fir. Taylor asks the Board for remarks in mid- <br /> November so he may put together packages for Town Meeting in the <br /> spring. <br /> Items to be included in the discussion are scall areas of <br /> concern such as potholes whether public or private roads and for <br /> restoration to larger areas . <br /> Selectman Jacobson asks Mr , - Harrington to place this item <br /> on the agenda during the first week of November , she asks the <br /> Board to prioritize areas of concern for discussion. <br /> 7 : 18 p.m. Clean-up of Hurricane Bob <br /> Selectman caffyn commented on the amazing amount of work <br /> that has been done by the Town with the hurricane clean-up. She <br /> asks Mr. Taylor when he expects to be done? <br /> We are currently in the Popponesset area of New Seabury <br /> states Mr. Taylor. We expectto- be done by next geek. <br /> Selectman Jacobson noted the good job done well by the Town <br /> in the hurricane clean-up. She asks the gess to emphasize that <br /> the clean-up is almost over . <br /> Mr, Taylor noted the public should also be informed not to <br /> place any more debris on the edge of the roads .' <br /> : 20 p.m. Acceptance of Screened Loan Bid <br /> This catagor'y was ovrlooked informed Mr. Taylor. The bid <br /> is - for FY 92 and the low bid price is $9 . 75 per yard delivered . <br /> 'Iowa counsel suggests to obtain something in writing from <br /> the .applicant to -hold the appropriate bid price . <br /> The motion was made by Selectman Hanson to award the bid to <br /> Processed Stone for screened loam at $9 . 75 per yard . The motion <br /> was seconded by Selectman caffyn. The vote of the Board is <br /> unanimous . The vote is 4-0 . <br /> Access to Town counsel : <br /> Mr . Harrington is concerned with the policy the Board adopted <br /> in August of 1990 relative to accessing Town counsel services . <br /> The bill for July is 28% greaterthan the previous fiscal year . <br /> Mr . Harrington suggests to discuss ways to not make excess- <br /> ive time of Town counsel . If we continue at this rate, we may <br /> be in a deficit in the Legal and Engineering Account at the <br /> conclusion of FY 92 . <br />
