BOARD of SELECTMEN Page MINUTES TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15 , . 1991 7 : 15 p.m. Greg Taylor, Director of Public Works : Mr . Taylor acted he is workingon a program with the Police and Fire Departments on road repairs and improvements for both public and private roads. Points to be prioritized include isolated areas that need improvements related to safety and roads for consideration under general improvement under chapter 90 . The Town bylaw asks the Board of Selectmen to review and make the appropriate determination of private ways for consider- ation by March. fir. Taylor asks the Board for remarks in mid- November so he may put together packages for Town Meeting in the spring. Items to be included in the discussion are scall areas of concern such as potholes whether public or private roads and for restoration to larger areas . Selectman Jacobson asks Mr , - Harrington to place this item on the agenda during the first week of November , she asks the Board to prioritize areas of concern for discussion. 7 : 18 p.m. Clean-up of Hurricane Bob Selectman caffyn commented on the amazing amount of work that has been done by the Town with the hurricane clean-up. She asks Mr. Taylor when he expects to be done? We are currently in the Popponesset area of New Seabury states Mr. Taylor. We expectto- be done by next geek. Selectman Jacobson noted the good job done well by the Town in the hurricane clean-up. She asks the gess to emphasize that the clean-up is almost over . Mr, Taylor noted the public should also be informed not to place any more debris on the edge of the roads .' : 20 p.m. Acceptance of Screened Loan Bid This catagor'y was ovrlooked informed Mr. Taylor. The bid is - for FY 92 and the low bid price is $9 . 75 per yard delivered . 'Iowa counsel suggests to obtain something in writing from the .applicant to -hold the appropriate bid price . The motion was made by Selectman Hanson to award the bid to Processed Stone for screened loam at $9 . 75 per yard . The motion was seconded by Selectman caffyn. The vote of the Board is unanimous . The vote is 4-0 . Access to Town counsel : Mr . Harrington is concerned with the policy the Board adopted in August of 1990 relative to accessing Town counsel services . The bill for July is 28% greaterthan the previous fiscal year . Mr . Harrington suggests to discuss ways to not make excess- ive time of Town counsel . If we continue at this rate, we may be in a deficit in the Legal and Engineering Account at the conclusion of FY 92 .
