BOARD of SELECTMEN Page <br /> MINUTES <br /> MONDAY, JANUARY 13 , 199 <br /> Quarterly Tax Bills :- <br /> Anne Shaw has recommended to keep a spot on the warrant for <br /> Town Meeting to do either one. She notes bills are now due on ' Tovember <br /> lst and May lst if they are put out in a timely fashion. <br /> Ms .Shaw notes that she has spent $5,000 on tax forms . If this <br /> is approved she will have to spend another $5 ,000 to have four sets <br /> of forts rather than two. Additional money would be required to hire <br /> someone on a temporary basis to type while the current staff would be <br /> available to answer questions . <br /> If we go to quartrlys , the hills have to be in the mail no later <br /> than July lst states Nis. Shaw, The Assessors would have to be ready <br /> with the information in June and the tax rate has to be set by Dec- <br /> ember lst . Mrs . Shaw notes once this is voted , we are locked into it <br /> for -.,three years . <br /> Selectman Vaccaro indicates there could be an article for both <br /> the semi-annual and quarterly tax bills on the warrant. If the bill <br /> passes. , the sere.-annual seems like the best option for the Town. <br /> Selectman catffyn recommehds the Board send a letter to Tort Cdhir <br /> and senator Rauschenbach and indicate our support of this . <br /> ***The motion was made by selectman caffyn to send a letter to our <br /> representatives whoever necessary requesting they support this leg- <br /> islation. The motion was seconded by Selectman Vaccaro. The vote <br /> of the Board:' is unanimous , The vote i 4-0 , <br /> Selectman Jacobson has suggested for Anne Shaw to prepare the <br /> articles for the warrant and save the slots for the articles with the <br /> necessary information . <br /> Anne Shaw has brought to the Board ' s attention the fact that there <br /> are problems with the computer. It is a software problem. She can-_I;t <br /> post. The computer is putting payments to interest and not to taxes . <br /> Until she posts , it is not known what payments to make to the Natter <br /> District . <br /> The software support people are not sub po inn the software program, <br /> Selectman Vaccaro recommends to hold payment . Mrs . Mason indicates they <br /> are paid on a month to month basis and payment has been made* <br /> Selectman caffyn suggests to place this on the agenda for Thurs- <br /> day morning. Anne Shaw will attend the meeting. The specifics will <br /> be sent to Attbrtoy Reardon for review. <br /> Bidre Greelish offers her assistance. <br /> 7 : 38 p.m, Eliats McQuaid re: cancer study <br /> 'glias McQuaid and Steven Greelish were present to discuss the <br /> summary of the Lipper Cape cancer Study with the Board. Mr. McQuaid <br /> read the summary dated January 13 , 1992 to the Board and public present. <br /> Selectman Vaccaro asked if there is money to do continued testing <br /> in John ' s Fond <br /> A recommendation will be made at the TEAK Meeting scheduled for <br /> January 29, 1992 indicates Mr. McQuaid. A cc that has been contracted <br /> by the Military should recommend to include the studyLof pesticides <br /> and animal life in the pond. If accepted by the Military, it is hope- <br /> ful testing will begin before Memorial Bay, <br />
