Request from the Board of Assessors : Legal Fees <br /> Two tax appeal cases are pending with the Board of Assessors <br /> Department and the request has been.,-m de for funding. The approximate <br /> cost for expert testimony is $5-6,000 indicates Mr. Harrington. <br /> Town counsel has recommended to discuss this agenda item in <br /> Executive Session since there is pending litigation. <br /> The Board is in agreement* <br /> Deferral of Summer Pay for FY 93 : <br /> ****The motion was rade by Selectman Lawrence that the Board of <br /> Selectmen of the Town of Mashpee reject the provisions of Section 231 <br /> f Chapter 13 of the Acts of 1991 as amended by Section 4 of Chapter 233 <br /> of the Acts of 1991 , and further amended by chapter 336 of the Acts of <br /> 1991, with respect to deferral of teachers ' summer pay for FY 93 by <br /> the cape Cod Regional Technical High School District. The motion was <br /> seconded by Selectman Mills . The vote of the Board is unanimous . The <br /> vote is 3-0 . <br /> Appointment of Board Secreta r Finance Committee <br /> ****The snotion was made by Selectman Lawrence to appoint Je an Mooney <br /> as Board Secretary to the Finance Committee. The motion was seconded <br /> by Selectman Mills , The vote of the Board is unanimous* The vote is <br /> Selectman Jacobson notes that Ms . Mooney is a resident of Mashpee <br /> and is pleased to employ those who live in town. <br /> Approval of Policy o. 022 : <br /> * *The motion was made by Selectman Lawrence to approve Policy No. 022 <br /> Minority Business Enterprise and Minority/Women Business Enterprise <br /> as presented. The motion was seconded by Selectman Mills . The vote of <br /> the Board is unanimous . The vote is 3-0. <br /> With the current times , Selectman Mills asks if sexual preference <br /> should be added to the policy.. This is for the purpose of contracting <br /> indicated Mr. Harrington. This encourages municipalities to certify <br /> minority businesses . <br /> Adjournment <br /> ****Being no further business to.-discuss , the motion was made by <br /> Selectman Lawrence to adjourn the Regular Session at 8 :48 p.m. The <br /> motion was seconded by Selectman Mills . The vote is unanimous . The <br /> vote is 3-0 . <br /> Selectman Jacobson polled the Board. The decision is unanimous <br /> to eater into Executive Session at thisirne to discuss pending liiga- <br /> tion and collective bargaining.
